Any truth to this rumor?
I think it would be pretty cool. I know the Milwaukee County Zoo has some live golden eagles. Brining one to campus would be sick! It wouldn't even have to fly in the arena - too much liability, I'm sure. It could just sit on a pedestal or with a handler and look intimidating. Definitely better than the stuffed animal thing we have now. You could even name it "Warrior" !!

The PC police would never allow it.

Might be the only way to get rid of the Golden Eagles nickname. I like it. Scoop fundraising campaign to put a caged golden eagle on campus?
At the very least, we'd have to let it fly around when Ed Cooley is in town....
A golden eagle is nothing.
Call me when DePaul summons an actual demon at their games.

That will happen as soon as Georgetown captures a Hoya.

Blutto or blueteau or whatever that thing was a few years ago :-[
Naughty subject!
To answer the original question, I have heard nothing of the sort. It's been my wish for at least four years (http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=39391.msg508371#msg508371). Most recently brought up a few weeks ago. Give it a rest, chapman! (http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=54811.msg960250#msg960250)
