Make no mistake, the defense as a whole yesterday was really bad. But I think we may have seen the makings of something exciting on that end of the floor.

Great write up as always. MU is #326th in two point defense. Brutal. Our answer to that is the guys not playing with us yet. Matt hustles. That said, Cain and Elliott will be earning more minutes at the three...they are there for the taking.
With Howard and Rowsey, you've got 2 guys who are needed on the floor for their offense, but ideally you'd like to try to hide both of them on defense. Then Hauser, who I think is a great team defender, but not the best on-ball guy. I know a lot of us are skeptical about the coaches' ability to design a defensive scheme that fits the personnel (myself included), but it's tough to mask all those blemishes of your 3 best players.
Great article, and well done showing some defensive highlights. Obviously the second half broke down, but I felt better after that game. Plenty to be encouraged by for the rest of the year.
Good stuff. That work by Matty was really good.
Great read Andrei. Ideally we wouldn't have M2N and Rowdy on the floor together very often. Unfortunately we don't have enough offensive options to make that work. Hoping we have some guys step up in offense. Ithink it might be Cain. If he can get that three point shot to 35%, he could be a great two way prayer

Is that praying to both heaven and hell?

It's probably an allusion to how lonely and sadly alone Jamal is (in reference to how wide open he's being left) or perhaps how he's the smartest, most clever, most physically fit (on defense), even though nobody else seems to realize it.
