1. M2N. Came on strong in the second half.
2. Sammy got it going also in the second half.
3. Wowsey.
4. Matty.
Nice games by Theo and GE. Let's get em tomorrow boys. Go Warriors!
Markus. Great second half and only one turnover.
Hauser. 20 and 10.
I literally can't decide between Sam, Rowsey, and Markus. All 3 played great and were huge in getting the W. gun to my head, I say Sam for the complete all around game.
Sam Hauser, played big down the stretch.
Gotta go with Sam. He made so many winning plays
Sam or Markus
Howard. 7 assists. Need more of those.
Howard.
Terrible terrible first half. Really the SOTG just because he mentally overcame his first half problems.
Hauser and rowsey very close seconds
Team Defense?
(seriously a great effort against a really good team - best I've seen in years)
Tough to decide between Markus and Sam. Both caught fire in the 2nd half. Howard 7 assists to 1 TO. Hauser 10 boards. In a close one...
1a) Markus
1b) Sam
3. Rowsey
HM
Everyone contributed!
I'm going with Markus but there's no doubt that Sammy and Rowsey played very well. Let's also not forget the very solid game Cheatham had. If he's your 4th and playing that well we're going to win a lot of games.

1a, 1b and 1c, but Matt deserves a shoutout for the boards.
Howard
Sam without question
Hauser
Howard
Rowsey
Haanif
Sam
Howard and Hauser, both!
Sam only over Howard because of his defense and critical offensive rebounds.
1a)Markus
1b)Sam
1c)Drew
2)Matty Ice

It's definitely Howard, and while it's a relatively large thing, the only thing that was terrible in the 1st half was his 3pt shooting. He was excellent at handling the pressure and finding the open man. Easily could have let the bad shooting night stop him but just excelled at everything else and kept shooting. Most mature, put together performance for Markus to date.
Sam was great, but Markus was just a hair better.
Said another way. Every single one of our guys contributed positively. Elliott with some nice blocks. Cain with a solid 3 and some good hops under the boards. Theo doing some enforcing with our combined bigs going 5-5. All good.

+1. He never let a slow shooting start impact the rest of his game.
Howard
Mini-HM for Theo, for giving us a glimpse of the stud he is going to be.
Tough Call, but have to go with Sam.
I know its not what STOG is about....but how about "The Freshmen". Some sweet music.
1. Markus
2. Sam
Markus or Sam. I don't care. Both deserving.
Sam
Hauser!

Yes sir. Solid contribution from all 3.
3 Headed Monster plus everyone--this is the best pre-Froling MU team I was hoping for.
Cheats with a couple of finishes and from distance.
Heldt and Theo men around the glass.
Sacar all around good.
Cain and Elliot contributed too.
I'd choose Hauser - points, rebounds, defensive help, breaking the press. Kid did it all.
1) Hauser - 20 points, 9 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks - solid all around game
2) Howard - only 4-13 from 3
Rowsey. We would have been down by 10 at half without his first half...
Sam - I said he was having a quiet game and then he goes and does everything, D, rebounds, scoring, assists
Theo was much improved I know not same type of bigs but he was a presence down below. All freshmen looked good
Hauser

If he can stay on the floor, he can be a force for the rest of the year.

He's almost too big for his own good. His screens are brutal for the opposing team. Almost unfair in some cases the way they hit a brick wall.
Sam, complete game.
Isn't it nice when a bunch of guys are worthy? ;D
Drewski as he broke the press, got Williams in foul trouble and held him in check on defense. He was beat up. Markus as #2
Stats say howard. Press break says Rowsey.

I still think Howard's 1 turnover to 4 each for Rowsey and Hauser is big.

FT% no.matta.
Some guy picked Sam before the game started. He is really smart.
Sam.
I was just pleased that we thoroughly out-rebounded a team that was larger at most positions. A couple of those multi-rebound offensive possessions seemed to really change momentum. A refreshing change of pace.
Samuel for SOTG.
Rowsey.
Really hard call. I'd go Hauser, Rowsey, Markus. All three were equal offensively, that's the order they were defensively
Sammy
This is a hard one (that's a good problem in this case), but since there's only <15 hours before the next tip - someone needs recognition. My final 2 are Markus and Sam. Sam gets the slight edge for stuffing the stat sheet.
I was happy with everybody's contribution.
For SOTG, I'd say Markus then Hauser...but I would be perfectly happy with either.
Let's recognize that every Marquette player that saw playing time got at least one offensive rebound.
Would that have even been imaginable at this time last year?

I'm late to the party ... and I agree with your call. Couldn't have gone wrong with Markus, either, but Sam was a stud.
Sammy Slammer
I would have went with Markus, but Sam is a deserving winner. Markus, mainly for the all around game. 22 points, 7 assists, 6 rebounds and only 1 turnover. Can't have a much better game than that.
Just don't get the Rowsey over Markus and Sam picks. He was definitely 3rd but Rowsey jacked up way too many foolish shots and had 3 more TOS then Markus.

He was the primary ball handler v a pressure defense and did so well that they called off havoc for a good portion of the game. Two of his TOs were due to slips on the floor.
Sam played an all around complete game. Love his defense, rebounding, ball handling, shooting and toughness. He is so steady. He is the glue of this team.
Sam.

I didn't have sound where I was watching. Did they mention anything about the floor being slippery? Is it due to the weather and size of gym? Seemed like it gave Rowsey some trouble early on.

Didn't say anything but there were at least 3-4 slips at that end of the floor.

Not a chance. Good catch.
I've got to go with Sam, but it's very close.

Yeah I get that. Don't get me wrong we needed Rowsey too but some of his shots were also like TOs. Like that one where he pulled up on a fast break at nearly half court.
He had 2 rebounds and 2 assists. Sam and Markus both were big impacts in those areas as well.
Just think those two clearly had the better all around games
