is a new nickname we came up with for Dan ala Ocho-Cinco. It's something a buddy and I came up with a few games ago, but we were shouting it out last night after the game. I know it's probably a lame nickname, but it was the best I could come up with. Any thoughts?
Trust your instincts (that its a lame nickname).
I knew it!
I AGREE ;)
my friend and I don't have a nickname for Fitz, we just use it as our new "kid-safe" four letter word :)
my buddy started yelling for dan even when he was a redshirt transfer, it was done as a joke then, but we kept it going. everyone now and then i hear another group using it. DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN FFIIITTTTZZZZZZZZZZ..GGGGEEERRRAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDD... pretty much everytime he checks in and when he hits a 3. now i kind of hope that the whole student section would start yelling it.
i call him the kid who threw up in my bathroom junior year.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNN FFIIITTTTZZZZZZZZZZ..GGGGEEERRRAAALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLDD... Spread it!!!
I call him the guy who randomly took a piece of pizza from my fraternity brother at Papa John's and walked away without saying a word.
LOL - How about the Trey Amigo!

Really? He's always come off as a nice guy. At Marquette Madness me and a buddy were down on the court after it was over when Fitz happened to walk past us. My friend goes "It's Dan Fitzgerald!" and Fitz gave a nice hello to us.
What about a simple "Dannnnnnnnnnnyyyyyy Boyyyyyyyyyy"
Ran into the Boys from MN at a local burger place last season. They were watching some games on espn while they were eating. We didn't want to be rude and interrupt, so when they passed us on their way out, we congratulated them on the win over ND. Fitz shook our hands and was extremely well-spoken and polite. Kinsella was the same. I think Lott was there, too.
Then they all climbed into a small sedan type car which really looked like a clown car with Kinsella driving. They were conspicuously tall for the little car.
All 3 boys were very polite, cordial, and very nice to us. It might be an act, but they represented the university quite well.

I am friends with Kinsella and he is just as nice as he appeared. He is a great guy. If you think that he looked funny getting into a sedan... you should see him on the golf course.
I have had a few run ins with Dan and with Jamil, and both are nice guys also.
I've had a few classes with Dan and he's always been nice enough, he doesn't seem smug or cocky at all.
As for the nickname, we all just call him D-Fitz, but I guess Fitzo Cinco could work. (Althugh I'm not sure that too many Irish people would go for the Spanish)
