If you wanted a seasoned guy with experience...there ya go.
Can he coach defense? 8-)
Former head coach of Northern Illinois. Led them to a first place finish in the MAC before tanking in his last year. Landed as an assistant at Illinois State before getting the assistant gig at Indiana. Gotta think he has some good recruiting contacts in the Indiana, Illinois area.

Not a lot of Illinois kids landed by wojo.
Recommended by Crean during the 100 Years Hoopla.
Think he can still hoop? There's a lot of points to be made up for in the noon coaches game now that Diener is gone! ;D
Is he our new Wainwright? Cause if so I totally support it.
Ed Morrow is from Chicago Simeon High School, same school as Jabari.

Interesting. His wife is a Professor of Marketing at Illinois State. Marquette posted a tenure track Marketing position in early June, and that position announcement has since gone away. Cached version...

So maybe?
Rob is a great guy, and every coach he has worked for loved him. Very loyal and intelligent. A coach's son and a former gym rat.
He was a very good recruiter when he was at Illinois, but I don't know what role he had (if any) in recruiting Indiana's best players.
THRILLED to have him at Marquette.
Can anyone speak to his X/O's vs. recruiting ability? Would be nice to add an experienced in-game coach.

He isn't allowed to recruit and isn't an assistant coach. Been around the game for a long time, so hopefully he's a Wainwright deal where he can connect & help some of our kids
How seasoned is he,I know the name but what exactly does a SA do.

Bosses around the non-special assistant.

He's probably going to do a lot of what Travis did while also helping out on the coaching side.
When I was in HS, my team went to U of I basketball camp. While watching our team play, Rob Judson (then an Illinois asst) said to my coach in regards to yours truly, "After watching him play basketball, I bet he's a great tight end on the football team."
I was an All-Conf TE. The man has an eye for talent! ;)

Eh, still a good story. Everyone should get one humblebrag every five years or so.

He won't be able to do any coaching on the floor, though he will be able to assist Wojo with strategy, direction, defensive concept, etc.

He won't be able to be at practice but can do individual drills right? So can be on the bench?
Special Assistant to the Head Coach?

Don't believe he can do individual drills either from googling and reading compliance rules for restricted non-coaching staff. Can be on the bench as we have obviously seen with other restricted staff in the past.
So he can't be at practice and he also can't recruit. I assume film watching, self scouting, game planning, etc. are a large part of the job then?
Or is it just to flush for Wojo?
