Title: How Is a Guard Oriented Team So Careless With the Ball?
Post by: monkeyman34 on January 08, 2008, 09:47:11 PM
for a team lead by non-freshmen guards, they look so careless with the ball and seem to have no discipline.  it gets really frustrating, it looks like they are out there playing on the streets with no coach and just trying to show off

They have looked dreadful all game and this is coming from a fan who always tries to be optimistic.  Bad shots, bad turnovers, lifeless most of the game, no offensive flow.

How many times did a guard get trapped on the baseline a few feet to the right of the hoop?  They made one or two plays out of it (including the last dish to Fitz), but getting trapped in that same spot led to a bunch of forced shots, blocked shots, and turnovers.

On the other hand, our guards played MUCH better defense tonight.  We had a whole buncha blocks, including McNeals huge stuff, and I think even Acker had a block!

But yes, TO's were atrocious and it looked like we ran into brick walls a lot of times against their D.

Nonetheless, while mosta us would have preferred a much easier game against SHU, I'm glad we won.  Hopefully this was just fatigue.  If we play like this against ND, I see us losing on Saturday (actually I won't "see" it, because I'll be flying back to campus from Baltimore).
