John Daly won on the PGA Champions today. I just saw the highlight , his fellow players came out and drenched him in Champagne. It was a fountain of champagne. Eventually the highlight of this scene will be on internet . It will be a very good GIF for future use. Hopefully someone can post it.
Wit Daly maybe shoulda just used Gatorade, ai na?
For whatever reason, I have always rooted for John. Good for him.
something about big johnnie ya just gotta love. happy for him and hope the extra girth is from too much chocolate instead of jim beam. he's a heck of a talent.
Very happy for JD. Hope this is the first of many for him. Hard not to root for the guy.
Good neck

Notis, John didn't have his mouth open, hey?
champagne was never really his "cup of tea"?
on a more serious note-that's a good sign! fuzzy zoeller bet him $150k(unofficially cuz they didn't shake on it) that he wouldn't make it to 50. well, he just turned 51 april 28

Well not always, there used to be quality there, but not so much anymore.
Felt like that was a newer low.
A few years ago, I played the mediocre golf course Daly designed in Myrtle Beach. Cost something like $23 to play it after some discount was applied. It was worth every penny!

a bar on every other tee box?
The tournament that John Daly won is called the Insperity Invitational. The tournament director is Jane Wandamacher who was in my class at Marquette. She also works on a few other Champions Tour events but the Houston event is her main project.
Also, the John Daly course in Myrtle Beach was called Wicked Stick (an ode to Crooked Stick where he won the PGA Championship). Unfortunately it is now occupied by 200 condos as the course closed a couple of years ago.

always nice to hear of MU success stories. re:wicked stick-unfortunate. there is a lot of competition for golf courses down there

Yes, Wicked Stick. Thanks for that.
Aside from the fact that it was cheap - and I always am looking to play cheap golf - it won't be missed much. There are still a bazillion places to golf in and around MB.
