Still marvel at how Xavier outlasted Nova. The tournament is such a crapshoot with so many factors beyond coaches' control. They really should not be judged so heavily on how they perform in the same. Lousy metric by and large.

Like anything, making absolute judgments over small sample sizes is silly.
I would say though over longer period of time the legends tend to show success in the tournament while the lower tier coaches don't (or not in a sustained way). Its a great measurement tool - and I believe a guy like Izzo has proved it...
Michigan, WVU, KU, Arizona.

Dude whines about everything. Saw a video of the Rodents getting off the airplane in Buffalo and he's sitting there talking about how they get to the NCAA Tournament and he has to go somewhere even colder than Wisconsin for it and how he's not happy to be walking through snow.
Here's an idea. Hit a jumper for once and you can actually get paid to play basketball like you think you are so entitled to do so. Otherwise, take your education seriously, major in Italian, and get paid to play overseas and put your education to use.

Thankfully for him there are smaller towns in the D-League.

Early on, I was a fan of this kid. He seemed refreshing from the tight-pantsed, cry about every call, formulaic Badgers. But the more he talks, the more he seems like just a different sort of whiner. What a putz.

+1 complains after every call
There's been a lot of press about him suing the NCAA. I think it was on Outside the Lines today. I'm in full support of the "Stop Nigel Hayes" campaign by Anonymous Eagle.
I wonder if the rodents had to hire a special trainer to change Hayes' diaper.
Michigan has to stop settling for contested 3's

clearly a BAC reader and not a step tracker.....sheesh
add: Gonzaga is getting jobbed on TO's
I actually find myself rooting for Gonzaga. I hate watching WVU. Can't score in the half court and just play the Seattle Seahawks style of defense. Foul on literally every single defensive possession so that the refs can only call the most blatant fouls or WVU would have to forfeit before halftime due to their entire roster being fouled out.
Longest replay stoppage ever.

Yeah, on something that was as clear as you'll ever see on a replay. That was really unnecessary. C Webb spitting truths.
WVU started taking panic 3s too soon, then when they had no choice but to take a 3, Zags did a nice job covering the perimeter.
Should have driven the open lane for a quick 2 with 20+ left....
Caleb Swawnigan.....what Lloyd Moore could have been
I think i watched 200 CBB games this year and didn't see a ball go off an official that was going out of bounds and stay in the entire season......that is 3 i've seen in the tournament. Is it me?

Nope. Seen the same, and it's fluky as hell to be happening now.
Frank Mason and Trevon Bluiett are putting on shows so far tonight.

Haven't seen much of the PU-KU game, but Blueitt has been incredible for X.
Anyone else thinking Markus Howard has Frank Mason upside? I see a lot of similarities. Hopefully Markus can reach those heights.

Hopefully markus can become a real good passer not saying he isn't a good passer already. He's already a threat but if he can dish the ball out, shoot the 3 or take it to the hoop he can and will be deadly
Bluiett is the star but Macura is the glue. Guy doesn't a little bit of everything for X.

X is playing solid basketball so far. Hope they can hold on. Would love to see X and Butler in the Elite 8. Odds are against it, but it's nice to dream.
Macura certainly is stepping it up. That pass down inside was awesome.
Let's go X!
Xaviers done.. oh well good year
Still pains me that all 1 seeds will be in elete 8 but nova... they always choke it
Whats with Blueit taking the most rushed silly shots

Wow.
Jesuit vs. Jesuit for the Final Four.
X BABY! Well done Musketeers!!!!!
What a finish. X, nice!
Great to see for the BE! All X fans now!

WOOOOOOOOOOOHOoo
WOW! Nicely done, X!
Well, I correctly picked that Arizona would fall before the Elite Eight. Never thought it would be to X. My Gonzaga to the Final Four pick is almost there but gonna be cheering for X.
Oh and the rest of my bracket is terrible. Not my year at all.

Gonzaga
Xavier
Wisconsin
Florida
South Carolina
Baylor

How does Few recruit all these guys from Austrailia and Poland? He seem to get these diamonds in the rough from all over the place. Wonder if Wojo has any contacts in Poland for 7 ft centers.

As long as it isn't Florida or Wisconsin that would be nice. Sure looks like the "other side" of the bracket will likely have the national champion though.

Kansas looks unstoppable. But I will sleep easier the sooner Bucky bows out.
Who were those guys that said the sweep of Xavier was not impressive?

We offered Karnowski. Buzz had him on campus right after his official to Gonzaga back in 2012. Wojo also offered Markkanen, but I don't think we ever got him to town. Hoping some success with Froling will open us up for international players. It really seems to be a recruiting goldmine.

I thought the Zags were losing to South Dakota State?
Well, in my "mulligan bracket," I'm 1-3.
Arizona, which I picked to go to the championship game, out. Very pleased to be wrong about that one, though. What a game by X. Blueitt sure looked like a guy who would be wise to test the NBA waters.
I really thought Michigan and West Virginia would pull their games out, but both had horrible last possessions, especially WV. Ugh.

Exactly.
Our first game against them, at our place on National Marquette Day, yeah, they were without Blueitt as well as Sumner and that game was a lot more important to us than to them.
But our second game 2 weeks later was at their place. Blueitt was back and at full strength. They had a full month to get used to not having Sumner. They were desperate to win. And we pretty much kicked their fannies to secure our NCAA bid. It was EXTREMELY impressive, and those who deny it aren't Marquette fans.

I would not say he was back at full strength, if you watched the game @X you could definitely tell he was still a little hurt
