Week 1: Big East recap

Syracuse, Notre Dame and DePaul are all 2-0 after one week of play in the Big East. Here's a review of what happened in the conference this weekend:

Kyle McAlarney's 32 points helped the Notre Dame Fighting Irish defeat Connecticut, 73-69 Saturday. The Irish now have a 29-game winning streak at home. Marquette hosts the Irish on Saturday.

Can anyone figure Louisville out? After falling to Cincinnati at home earlier in the week, the Cardinals rebounded, beating rival Kentucky in Lexington, 89-75.

Injuries continue to plague Pittsburgh. Playing in place of Levance Fields at the point guard spot, Ronald Ramon had five turnovers in a 64-63 loss at Villanova.

After starting out the season 4-7, DePaul improved to 2-0 in the Big East with a 70-65 victory over bruised and battered Providence.

Just 2-6 in its last eight games, Anthony Mason Jr. helped St. John's get a much-needed victory over Cincinnati.

Rarely slick, but usually effective, Georgetown handled Rutgers, 58-46. Hoyas coach John Thompson III was not pleased.

Arinze Onuaku helped Syracuse out-muscle South Florida, 89-77.

Morgan State gave Seton Hall fits, but Jamar Nutter's 29 points carried the Pirates to an 89-81 win.

Seton Hall faces Marquette Tuesday night at the Bradley Center.
