Princeton, you didn't need a 3.

Mike Brey looks like he is coming off a bender.

For a bunch of smart kids, that was a really dumb shot to try to win it. 4 seconds left and you fire up a contested prayer from 25 feet. Go to the rim, son!

Butler's got a good first half down.
Shayock to locker room, UNCW to come back. (and back from locker room)

Win for sure....but if it has to be a loss. Nothing crazy stupid like both the vandy players...the foul was really bad but the shot was also foolish and maybe even more so. The shooter knew what had to happen and took that shot??

Less than 48 hours ago, we had a guy choke his teammate, yell at his coach and get benched for the final 6 minutes of a one point game as a result.

I'll say this, if Rowsey or Howard get South Carolina's center switched onto them in a late game situation I have no problem with them getting him back pedaling and pulling up from deep. The kid had the exact same situation a minute earlier and burried it to give them their first lead of the second half. He also took the guard on the dribble for a layup and found a wide open teammate under the bucket while being doubled all inside the last minute. I have a feeling he's got a pretty good understanding of what his capabilities are.

Right. He had just beat his man to the basket. On the last possession he had NW's big switched onto him and backpedalling on his heels. Good look. Identical look to the one he iced with 1:20ish left. Didn't fall this time.

I would never say Vandy gave anything less than "an honorable effort." They played hard. They fell behind by 15 and battled back to take the lead. They had a chance right up until the final horn. There was nothing dishonorable about their effort.

They took some silly shots (or at least silly-appearing shots), but that's what some 3-point-shooting teams do, including ours. Like wades, I have absolutely no problem with LaChance's last shot.

Obviously, Fisher-Davis is the goat of the tournament so far due to that foul. It's a shame because he had a fantastic game. Vandy never would have been close at the end if he hadn't shot the lights out earlier in the second half. I actually find myself feeling very sorry for him. He's a 20-year-old kid who made a mistake, and he's going to be known for that mistake for a long, long time. That blows.

That was my thoughts.  The offense looks terrible.

Well they came in without their best rebounder and then their leading scorer got hurt, so.

Yep - they're doing quite well given the personnel limitations.

Eh. This is the first time I've watched Buzz since he left MU so I'm admittedly not up to date on their personnel.

Same, but damn, all of Bucky's points are coming on second chances.

Their offense looked terrible before Seth Allen got hurt, and he is back and their offense is still poor.  They aren't really running anything.

It reminds me of 2014 when we had shooters that couldn't create for themselves and he said that he would not run a play for them...they had to create their own shot.

edit.  They've been playing better the last 5 minutes.

13 is Ahmed Hill. He missed all of last year due to a torn ACL I believe.

Koenig is probably having the best game of his career.

Buzz has really ran a nice gameplay the for the last 10 minutes of the 2nd half.

If Koenig keeps drilling 3's UW wins...if he regresses back to the mean VPI takes it.

I'll be interested what this "terrible, don't run anything" offense has for an efg% for this game.

All 9 TOs occurred before the last 12 minutes.  They were making shots earlier despite no offense.  The last 12 minutes, as I've said, have been very well played from an offensive perspective and its allowed them to make it a battle.  Let's hope they continue this.

Virgina Tech just looks like it loses composure every time it gets within striking distance. This game easily could have been theirs.

VT is incapable of taking the lead

3 or 3 pt play when down 1 every time

Badgers even cover the spread.

The fact that Buzz's inability to control his team prevented a Badger upset makes me dislike him even more.

Observations:
Buzz is a good coach. Most complaints about him are Hater complaints.

UW Underseeded, should have traded with Minn. Better than VT.

I realize I don't like UW. Was rooting against them all game. Go Nova!

Why was Minn a 5 seed. Did committee set that upset up? 5-12? MTSU better than 12 too.

Nice Xavier win. They could get to S16.

If BE wins all 3 tommorrow can we say we're 6-0 or do we have to count the PROV loss at Dayton? Will be tough day for BE Friday.

Minnesota was overseeded. That does not mean the Badgers were underseeded. Maybe a line low, but that's about it. Only 4 top-50 wins, we were their best non-conference win, just not an impressive resume.

Didn't want to start a thread for this but was just watching the press conference on youtube with Markus, Luke and Katin and a question was asked by a guy named Dick Cox from Cox Sports Broadcasting.  I feel like we should do everything we can to introduce him to Mike Hunt.

eFG% no matta.

Becky had a higher eFG% than VT. Becky won. Is no problems.

Becky had a worse FT% than VT. Becky won. #FTsNoMatta

Becky's margin of victory was thanks to owning the o-boards. VT blows on the both sides of the glass.
