Anyone know if there are going to be any game watching parties or events in Chicago for the game tomorrow night? I've been to the Marquette bars in the city (Four Shadows/Schoolyard) but haven't heard of any specific events/locations. Maybe I'll just hit up Four Shadows as Schoolyard was packed for the first Nova game. (I'm specifically referring to the city, not the suburbs.)
Great question and one I've been trying to figure out myself. According to the chicago alumni website those two are the official watching locations.
Four Shadows has a "Hawkeye party" from 5-7 with $1 beers, so I'm sure it will be packed as well.
I'm gonna try to get a table at schoolyard in the afternoon but I'm not getting my hopes up.
It's tough all over because of St. Paddy's Day. Advancements has had a helluva time getting commitments for obvious reasons.
Four shadows doesn't even keep an MU flag up on the side anymore I figured it had gone the way of halligans and forgotten us. Cortlands doesn't have anything listed but I've heard it was fun.
I'm personally reserving a table today or showing up a decent amount of time prior to the game Friday.

You're reserving a table at Cortlands? Haven't heard of that place

Cortlands is my typical MU bar spot since it's west of Ashland. Decent beer list and burgers. Usually never as nuts as the other bars. Typically a more upper 20s/ younger 30s crowd too.

That's perfect for me 8-)

Nah I'm reserving a table at schoolyard. I haven't been to an MU game at Cortlands yet, only Hawks games (rang in the 2015 Stanley cup there)
Think I will be yelling at my TV at home in Lakeview. The St Paddy's Day element combined with a "way past happy hour" start time makes me want to avoid any of those places. I just want to focus on the game and not have a lot of distractions.
Besides, already had my fill of dealing with drunken college kids that are candidates to be found passed out on the sidewalk last weekend.
If there is a Sunday game... I will definitely reconsider this stance.
I don't go to watch parties anymore. Every time I went we lost. So I am doing my part Friday night by not going.
Anything in the Northwest suburbs of Chicago?

Nope. The usual official Marquette bar in the NW suburbs is Peggy Kinnane's, but not on March 17.....

Hmmm... I live 3 blocks away. Will they have sound for game?
I posted this in another thread as well. We are getting a big crowd of MU alums together at Wills North Woods Inn, on Racine just south of Belmont. They are a WI bar and accommodate MU very well. They have a great food menu and beer selection. Good TV's. Hope to see you guys up there.

I actually reached out to them to check and they said it depends on how many Marquette fans are there. I'm bringing 2 fellow MU fans, so I hope we can get enough over there.

No offense to you personally, but F Wills. They attempt to cater to Marquette a bit as a "all things state of Wisconsin" bar, but that place is completely and unapologetically Badger. Bad juju, not to mention the last basketball game I watched there was the Elite 8 game against Cuse.
I'll probably head to Schoolyard, decent track record of big games there.

+1
I only go to Wills for Muskie Fest or if I want to feel like I'm in The north woods. Bar tender has refused to put on sound for MU games before.
If you're at schoolyard and see a guy with bagpipes that's probably me.
You don't tug on Superman's cape, you don't spit into the wind, you don't pull the mask on the Lone Ranger, and you don't watch an MU NCAA tournament game at a Badger bar.
