Let's kick a little Pirate a$$ today as warm up to our 2017 BE Championship.
Rowsey lights 'em up, and the early call for SOTG
http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?page=chat
GO WARRIORS!!!!
Thanks DenverMU too
40 minutes like Warriors boys.
We got this!
Wowsey going to go off
Howard, Rowsey, Heldt, Wilson, Hauser.
Luke/Heldt no foul trouble
Delagdo/Rodriguez foul trouble
Win, well hope
Need frequent scores boys. I'm on a bus to Granada Spain for another hour with limited connection.
Go Warriors!
Inauspicious start
Hall's first turnover was the most unforced turnover in the history of turnovers
Offense looks out of synch.
Howard the meat in a Seton Hall sandwich and no foul.
I really really want this win, more then others it seems.
Let's do it!
Refs are gonna let them play
Everything but the 3's so far

Way out....thank goodness SH the same. MU with lots of missed threes.
Calm down Howard.....
Wowsey looking good. 4 points and a great steal in the post.
First foul on Delgado is important. 1 more and they are playing 6-8 Michael Nzei at the 5 and 6-6 Desi Rodriguez at the 4.
Putting in the upperclassmen seems to have settled things.
Was that Delgado's 2nd?
Fischer looking silly vs Delgado minus the block
Edit 3 minutes later he has 3 blocks. Lol
Score?
Jujuannnnn getting good looks but just not falling
Luke wants this right now

Just need to get some points off these blocks and missed shots, mnany opportunities, need to convert and get huge lead.
SH a different team with Delgado on bench.
A lead with our shots not really falling. Good D. Good rebounding.

For those unable to watch and counting on this for updates..... Right now, MU is playing really solid defense. Delgado has two early fouls. If the shots were falling, MU would already be up 15. Getting good looks but not falling.
I suspect we are not going to see a lot of Howard and Rowsey playing at the same time.

Appreciate the updates Tower
19-16 MU
Hall at the line for +1
9 mins left
As tower said, shots not falling
Get Fischer, JaJuan, and HC back in there
I'm not a fan of doubling Delgado like we've been doing.
Ugh. 2 fouls on Heldt.
23-17 MU
Huh, Sanogo is playing. Guess he wasn't that hurt.
I'd say our defense is outperforming our offense.
Shots not falling. Luke got beat badly once, then blocks 3 shots.
Good game so far for our guys. Typical Hall very physical.
23-17, under 8 media timeout. Still not hitting shots like they normally do. However, so far, they are competing physically and workng on defense.
Nice defense so far, and taking care of the ball. If the shots start falling we'll be in control.
We're taking good shots. Just not on fire. Yet.
I can't recall the last time Luke made 2-2 at the line. He seems to go 50% on two shot fouls every time. Rowsey creating some great looks, we just have to knock them down.
Overall can't complain being up 6 especially with some great looks just not falling.
Last 4 min were a little sloppy tho
Great defense so far
We are playing goods defense, but we are playing their game. Very low scoring game. Hope we can break open at some point.

The curse of the MSG 3 pointer. Hmmm

Big shot by Sam cause of ball movement.
28-24 MU

We look disjointed. No rhythm. Lots of subs in and out. On positive, we are sharing ball well, generally. We catch our rhythm and think we can run away with this game.

Points off turnovers very low for MU. SH has 8 turnovers, yet can't seem to convert. Just like Luke missing that layup after one.
Can't blame anything on refs, letting them play.
Cheatham over Wilson cause of Rodriguez, Duane couldn't handle.

A half hour review so Driscoll can hand out his usual Ts? Yawn.
Looooooool what? The hell did Rowsey do.

Hopefully we make the adjustments because their offense got going and we haven't looked good since the under 12.
Tied at half with our shots not falling. Not a bad result. If our shots start to fall, we win.

I agree, but the flip side is that if Delgado gets going (and he hit a shot just before halftime), it could go the wrong way.
So, I'll up the ante and say that Howard will start hitting, and Katin will nail a couple of key triples.

Big team.
Length at guard
St. John's does the same.
At least he wasn't in immediately foul trouble this game
My fault. Rowsey got that rebound sitting on his ass and I left to get my kid from school. I will be back for the second half. We've got this.
Well at least we don't have to worry about giving up a big lead.
Tied with MU not executing on offense, I'll take it. Shots better start falling for them in second.
5 for 14 from three.
Howard with zero points and one assist.
Delgado has 6 points, 6 rebounds and 5 turnovers. BUT, he has five assists because MU doubling him and he is passing out for wide open threes/twos which SH has made. Thats difference in game so far.
Cheatham on Rodriguez has been great, can't start Duane against him, just a major mismatch.
Is the rim smaller at the garden?
Didn't really play our game that half. Need to hit some shots.
Hang in there, gut this one out, escape with a "W" and save the hot shooting for tomorrow night.

Worst 3 PT shooting game of the season so far. MSG sucks for MU.
Nice to see Fischer back on the bench.
This game is over, but we're not gonna miss the tournament. Worried we will be in Dayton, however.
Honestly we never like to see this team lose but we can all say that it gives a better chance to go far in the tournament. This team will most likely be a final bye for a 11 seed. Would rather upset the 6 seed and play a 3 seed then play a 8/9 matchup and get number 1 seed next game.
Hell ill be content with them just making it.
We can score in bunches....just keep waiting for it. Gonna have to get some stops somewhere along the way though. Let's go!
MU can't defend so when the shots aren't falling, they have basically no chance against decent teams.

2 things:
1. Seton Hall's length and closing out has meant their looks early on weren't nearly as clean as they've been used to.
2. Missed a lot of good shots early on that they normally make, then got the collective yips and starting forcing things.

Bingo. We had chance to cut it to 6, and two or three possessions in a row we dribble into traffic and turned it over.

Why only comments for Fischer? Delgado has done most of his damage against Heldt. If you're going to trash players, at least be equal opportunity about it.
Heldt is a guy who tries hard but doesn't have much talent. Hard to get on his case when he's just not physically able to compete against a really good player.

That strand of logic makes no sense. Work harder in the gym then.

Man against a boy, not even close.
Hall misses FT's all year long...that's what they do..but nope, not today. Figures.
1st Half: Good offense but couldn't get shots to go down. Solid defense and rebounding.
2nd Half: Bad offense but occasionally got shots to go down. Poor defense and poor rebounding.
And Seton Hall shoots 95% from the FT line, despite being a 63% FT shooting team.
Let's hope we get offered a spot in the NCAA tournament.
We never have a bully like Delgado, and our gameplan sucked. We knew that they would shut down our two minions and work it inside. Would be nice to have a 20 win season and not be one and done at the Garden for a change
Today, free throws mattered. Hall goes 22/23 from the line. If they shoot their average of 63.5%, they go 15/23 and we win. 7 point difference at the line in a 6 point game.
FT's counted today.
Chalk this game as a bad matchup for us. At any rate we will be in the post season, NCAA (most likely) or NIT. Let's face it SH took us out of our game and played their game. As many have said these games are all gravy or house money. The program is getting better and I am already looking forward to next season.

I think this is what bothers me the most. It pains me to get bullied, after we always seemed to be the tougher team in the past. I hope some of the guys coming in over the next couple of seasons are built a little more like Delgado, and not in the Heldt frame. Also agree about the gameplan sucked. The double team did nothing to stop Delgado, it never got there quick enough or hard enough. He had plenty of time to read the defense and find the open guy. It was painfully obvious watching and no adjustment was ever made.

Heldt is a 2 star? Recruit who's a sophomore and until February looked completely lost. Fischer was at one point an NBA potential player. I'm fine with heldt being dropped by Delgado. Fischer has way more talent but doesn't utilize it.

Fischer will be in Europe calm down.
John and Ike may be our future bullies, and Cain looks to be a high flyer, it has been a good year
overall and fun to watch..

7 points, 6 rebounds, 4 blocks, 1 foul. Not his best game but he was maybe 19th on the list of reasons we lost this game.

Nope but even worse when u look at what his defensive reaponsibility did

I noticed he has no coaching gig
Noticed we got blown off the court in the 2nd half. JJ played all of 3 minutes, before being put back in the game in last 1:30.

You mean during the run they made to open up the second half when Heldt was in, right?
Just back from the game
Hall was more athletic overall, defended the perimeter well and exposed our defense by driving to the basket.
Delgado was a load underneath.
They seemed to be better prepared.

Wojo shoulda canned the starting lineup at beginning of half. Duane and Heldt were terrible at start, took them out, but too late.

What did he do? He scored 12 points on 6/11 shooting. Both of which are below his season average. I believe 10 of it was also scored on Matt Heldt.
Delgado's biggest impact was his passing which was a result of the coach's decision to double. Nothing Luke could have done about that.
Your hatred has made you blind.

I look at rebounding n rebounds missed . Shu offense for the last two years has been throw the ball at the basket n go get it and luke provides next to zero defnse against that. Rebound up over thru and around luke as he stands there with that whats happening look on his face.
A really bad basketball player, always a step late. U have to instantly instinctively react. If u think about it ur a step late, hes always late. The play he got hurt on is the perfect example of what continuously happens

If anything it's poor weak side defense on the passes. I feel like one of the wing defenders should have been in the paint to prevent that. Opens us up to a 3, but makes the layup line tougher.

Well rebounding and defense are not the same thing, so nice goal post shifting. And Delgado only got 2.5 more rebounds than his average. Not that big of a deal. And again, most of that was against Heldt.
She said yes. Luke got the girl. Let her go!

Suggest you look at the numbers for the first half before Fish was hurt. Also you may want to consider Delgado is one of the best Bigs in the BE.
Of all the college players I've watched--Think Delgado is one of the top
5 players this year. Freshman---T.J. Leaf of UCLA. Delgado should have
been BE player of the year. The Hall is nothing when he is out. He is a load.
