With the big ten moving their conf tourney up a week next year, would this have any effect on the traditional time frame the MU wisco home game falls?
Unlikely. Probably will be on December 9. Even if they start conference play a week early, it'd be the week of the 17th at the earliest. Though my guess is they start conference games after Christmas. Get going December 27, play 2 games a week, season still wraps up on February 24.
"Each Big Ten team will play two games over a four-day stretch that starts Dec. 1. Conference action will then resume in January, with the final 16 games for each team played over eight weeks."

We need to move that game to a later date so our man Harry is eligible to play. Or else start the school year a week earlier.

Cause Marquette will move the entire school year up a week just so a basketball player can play in a non-conference game ::)

Harry will not make a difference in that game.

Really? You know the future?
Impressive
Or do you mean he won't make a difference because the game will be played before he is eligible?
Since it's come up. When does his playing eligibility start? Can't remember how Fischer worked. Is it tied to a date? Or an event on our school calendar? I am confused.
Iirc when grades are posted for first semester.

Wait, what? The B1G is starting their conference season December 1 and playing their conference tournament the same week that low major conference tournaments run? I know the on court results for the B1G are mid-major worthy, but wow, they're really taking their conference to the mid-major level, aren't they?

Strange. First I've heard of this. What's their rationale?

That's a stretch. Not a huge B10 guy, but it's definitely the 4th best conference this year in a season in which it's very much down.
As for the news on the Dec 1-Dec 4 games, not sure I get it. What are they trying to accomplish?

To get Madison Square Garden. Their championship game was always a prime ratings spot I thought.

Fine, but the two conference games in early Dec?
In reading that article, my guess is that we will be in Madison on Saturday, December 16.
Did everyone forget the Big 10 is playing at MSG the week before we get there next year?

They need to fit the same number of conference games in a period that ends one week earlier. Gotta find dates for them somewhere.

Right. And they usually start their conference season the week between Christmas and New Years. They aren't going to start the conference season the week prior to Christmas.
Don't care when the game is. I will be there and we will (again) beat their a$$ in their own domicile.

Love it - the Big Ten as the undercard for the Big East!

If this is reality, would Dec 16 be after 1st semester grades post?

Probably not. This past year, finals ended on Dec 17. Assuming the academic calendar is similar next year, Dec 16 would likely be the end of finals. Unless profs have gotten to instantaneous posting of grades, not likely to happen.

Nope. Grades post on 12/19 at 5p.

Here is the rule

So Froling eligible to play under that scenario.

It'll be interesting how that plays. Two years ago, MU didn't have a Saturday game after finals. Luke debuted Tuesday night against ASU, a few hours after he got his grades and 'completed' his second semester on campus.
