With Chris Clark out, I believe we win that game. I have 6 points of their pomeroy rating coming from him at www.valueaddbasketball.com.
If we're an 8 aren't we a lock? :)
yes, with the NCAA pointing to even more emphasis on Top 50 wins MU is a lock. We are one of only 11 teams projecting to have at least 7 wins over Top 50 teams.
Team Top 50 Wins Top 50 Losses
- Villanova 10 3
Florida St. 10 4
North Carolina 10 4
Butler 10 4
Duke 10 6
Baylor 9 4
Kansas 8 2
Kentucky 7 5
Minnesota 7 6
Marquette 7 6
Louisville 7 7
Curious if anyone knows the typical game time for an 8 seed in the first round. Is it almost always a day game, or is there a shot at a night game?

Play it safe and clear your calendar for both days!
Lot of times the 8-9 game are late at night. Lot of times the 1-16 games are in the primetime windows (6 - 630) to get the big-name program on when the most eyeballs are watching.

We still have opportunities to win more top 50 games too

Is Lunardi fairly bias against the Big East or is that just Big East people talking. Where he has us inspires no comfort
Imagine how awkward that would be Luke, JJ, and Duane all shaking hands with him after we win lol

While Wojo is dancing at half court to "Take Me Home, Country Road"!
It would make for an interesting "back story". Several back stories, actually. Certainly it would give the announcers something to comment on, other than the game. Not that announcers ever stray far from "game content" when announcing the game. Oh, wait..... ;)

Too bad Morgantown isn't hosting.... ;)
Lunardi is in the entertainment business. He needs storylines to make his stuff more interesting. I think he manipulates his matchups to create backstory. It makes us invest into his analysis more and frankly makes his stuff enjoyable.
Not that it's all a farce. He's decent with the picks... but he manipulates it a bit. He knows Buzz vs MU gets us going.

That game may rank behind only nova as my favorite regular season win ever.
Jae Crowder beating the presumed Big East POY as the only true starter in the first half.
I just watched ESPN's special on the tournaments. Re: the big East, unless I misunderstood something - which at my age happens - they say Xavier and Providence are on the bubble, and Marquette isn't even mentioned which I took to mean by their analysis we are not getting in unless X loses to Depaul and/or we beat Seton Hall. Hope that's wrong.

I didn't see it but I would have to say that's wrong.

Or they weren't mentioned because they are a lock. If Marquette doesn't get in at this point its an injustice.
