How much have the odds improved?
Only if we get coach K.

Its widely known that if Wojo is very successful hes off to duke when K calls it quits. Lets not pretend anything. Diener to be head coach!

The "very" in "very successful" is the biggest variable. Woj needs a F4 or two before he'd be considered for Duke sans 10-15 years of a successful (routine S16/E8 visits) head coaching track record. And I don't think K will be around another 7-12 years...
Now let's not get carried away here. I was hangin left again until there were about 2 minutes left. We were up 13 so I took a long overdue head call.
When we started doinking those free throws I did a package check and sure enough my pouch was on the right side. Once I got that corrected Rowsey swished a couple and victory was assured.

Agreed! Not sure why everyone is so paranoid about the possibility because Wojo has a long way to go before he's a viable candidate for that gig. That said, I hope like hell he gets it. I really do! I don't understand why so many on here would begrudge the guy for going back to his alma mater if that opportunity presents itself. If it does that will be the best thing to happen to MU hoops in a very long time because the only way that happens is if he does one hell of a job for us. If he does go to Duke straight from our place, that would mean we'll have done so well we'll be able to attract an equally good coach and great recruits so we'll be just fine.

It's not that they hate the guy for leaving. It's that many don't like the view of Marquette as a stepping stone school. They want it to be a final destination. A Reward. Something a coach doesn't plan on leaving. With wojo's hire it was basically a confirmation that the BOT is fine with being a stepping stone.
K is getting old. He's done it all. People get a sense they need to wind down. I'm sure he has a timeline. Whoever is best of his progeny at the time will get the call. And that person will honor the call.
There are a bunch of them. Wojo could be the best choice. As long as we get 6 or 7 years out of him. But would rather 20.
Wasn't TC leaving for MSU?
Wasn't Buzz only leaving for Texas?
We beat Creighton on Senior Day and Wojo's next in line for the Duke job?
Some coach, someday, will understand everything that MU offers to their coach and their ability to succeed, and realize why the hell would I ever leave?
Hopefully that coach is Wojo.
I don't doubt that Wojo would be gone in a New York minute if Duke came calling...but that would mean we'd have made a few Sweet Sixteens and a couple Final Fours over the next several seasons, so I'd be cool with that.
Wojos contract was extended again . Not going anywhere. Also he got more money for Stan.

Another two , theory being he can always tell a recruit he will be their coach.

And don't forget "widely". I am assuming by "widely" you mean like just about everyone knows this to be true. I'm just saying that's just too much. It could make sense. If wojo takes us to the sweet 16 like 2 years in a row or 16 then 8 or whatever, then I could understand why it could become more "widely" known. Hey, I hope wojo continues to do well and he takes us to the tourney, then 32, then 16, then...it's a win-win, but, then I would hope, if he were to leave for duke or where ever it would be through the front door with dignity(which I believe he would) as opposed to loading up the van at midnight, if ya know what I mean
Bottom line-let's enjoy the good times and hope they only get better and not worry about wojo going anywhere some other year, eyyn'a?
duke? I think Indiana might need a coach before duke

Hiring coaches who you think won't leave if they become good is what leads to hiring decisions like Mike Deane.
I mean when you hire people where you work, do you ever say "I know this person is the best qualified and fits our culture well, but I'm going to hire the other guy because I'll know he'll be here for 20 years?" No one does this.
