Kinda hope PC ends up with the 3 if were the 6 or the 4 if we're the 5. Would love another shot at them.

I would love this draw for MU. Though I don't think Creighton will finish 3rd.
boy, staying out of the first night would be quite a relief, beyond the obvious fact that it would likely mean we had avoided losing the last two.
DePaul kills our RPI, and St. Johns and Georgetown have both killed us away from MKE. Even a win gets us one of the two that are really tough and at full strength.
Being anywhere in that 3-6 gives us a real chance at two wins and if so a pretty certain bid.

Am I thinking wrong, but it seems to me in either situation our 2nd game would be against either Villanova or Butler. Of course in the second situation Villanova or Butler could be upset in their first game.

That is true but 3/6 versus Butler is obviously better than playing Nova. Butler is beatable. Playing PC then Butler would be nice so we can get a win against all Be teams. Awfully hard to beat a team 3x.

I agree with you that it would be easier to beat Butler than Villanova. However, given that we split with Nova, lost to Butler twice and that Butler beat Nova twice, I am not sure this makes logical sense.
Is it possible to go 1-1 and get the 4 or the 5? I will look into it, but was curious if anyone already has.

To answer my own question:
If MU goes 1-1 with a loss @ X, and the other games not involving MU go chalk:
1.Nova
2.Butler
3.Creighton4. PC
5. X
6. MU7. SHU
8. St. Johns
9. Georgetown
10. Depaul

1.Nova
2.Butler
3.Creighton
4. PC
5. MU6. SHU
7. X
8. St. Johns
9. Georgetown
10. Depaul
IF MU wins both, and the other games not involving MU go chalk:
1.Nova
2.Butler
3. PC
4. MU
5. Creighton6. SHU
7. X
8. St. Johns
9. Georgetown
10. Depaul
Can't get the 3 seed unless PC loses to one of SJU or Depaul.
Looks likely that we'll either be playing Creighton for the 2nd time in a row in the BET opener, or PC, assuming we can get at least 1 of the remaining 2.
Would rather get the 6 seed than the 4/5. Would love another shot at Butler.

I think if we end up with the 6, it'd be pretty great to get PC in the 3/6 game and then Butler in the next round should we win. Would give us a chance to notch a W against all BE teams this year.

If we got that far in the BET it would almost be a guaranteed tourney birth
For clarity:
Teams that have the tie-breaker over us:
PC
Teams that we beat in a potential tiebreaker:
X
Creighton
SHU
SJU
So, with the big log-jam in the middle of the Big East what we really want to do is avoid being in a mini-conference with Providence. If we lose to either X or CU, we also don't want to be in their mini-conference.

That would be a great way to close out the season, but I'm not going to be disappointed if we manage to avoid seeing Butler again. I just feel like they have our number and have been able to handle anything we've thrown at them. I'd much rather see Butler get upset in the first round to give us an easier road.
My guess at the final week:
1) Villanova (15-3) W @ Georgetown
2) Butler (13-5) W v Seton Hall
3) Marquette (10-8) W @ Xavier, W v Creighton
4) Creighton (10-8) W v St John's, L @ Marquette
5) Providence (9-9) W v DePaul, L @ St John's
6) Seton Hall (9-9) W v Georgetown, L @ Butler
7) Xavier (9-9) L v Marquette, W @ DePaul
8) St John's (8-10) L @ Creighton, W v Providence
9) Georgetown (5-13) L @ Seton Hall, L v Villanova
10) DePaul (2-16) L @ Providence, L v Xavier
I would love to see that Brew. ;D

This seems optimistic but I found myself agreeing with every individual result except Marquette going 2-0. And honestly I think we match up with with X and CU, but winning two toss up games seems unlikely. Hope you're right.

Same, but man would that be nice. We could all breath easy heading into MSG.

I think without Sumner, we're a better team than Xavier. And at home on Senior Day, I like our odds. Should be a raucous crowd. After St John's, I really felt PC was our toughest game. Their length at the guard and wing positions is a defensive nightmare for us. And honestly, we probably still should've won the game.
That said, I'm not a huge fan of seeing Seton Hall again at MSG. They abused us late in both games and I wouldn't be sold on our chances to advance, though at 10-8 it really wouldn't matter.

I think if we beat Xavier we will have momentum going into CU and i know we will play hard on senior day

After last night's win, does this scenario hold as true? Thanks to whoever posted this view of the brackets too.

Yes, this still holds true.
What I find interesting is that Xavier could very well play DePaul twice after losing 6 in a row. Then perhaps get beat by butler.
They are in a bad bad situation. There is no redemption, nothing to hang their hat on. They won't make it.
Of course they beat butler and maybe 1 more then they could claim they are back. But only two over DePaul is ugly.

X is gonna make it, assuming they don't lose to DePaul the next two games.
If they beat DePaul twice, that gets them to 20 wins. That will be enough.

Agree...but the way X has been playing, two straight over DePaul is far from a given. Hard to believe I'm saying that, but X is circling the drain....
X is the type of team that limps in as an 11, then spoils brackets by pulling a couple upsets to tank brackets on their way to the Sweet 16 or Elite 8. Still a tough, physical team with a few scorers that could give teams problems once they get outside the league.
Right. And 2 weeks from now when Blueitt is healthy and ticked, he can take over a game or two.

True if Bleuitt gets fully healthy he can take over games by himself

I'm sure we'll play hard but will the right players play hard? If JJJ tries to play hero ball or Luke goes overly aggressive on D then I don't think we'll win. If everybody respects their rolls on the team and play our balanced attack then I think we have a very good chance
