Did anybody see Brendan Bailey play prior to him going on his mission? I thought I read somewhere at one point that he was thought of as one of, if not the, best shooters in the class of 2016. We all know how good of shooters Howard and Hauser are. Is he just as good as those two in terms of shooting? Is he up there with Monk? I'm sure it was someone trying to hype him up, but how good is he?
Also, how similar are Cain and Bailey? It seems like Cain may be more of a slasher while Bailey is a shooter, but in terms of physical attributes it seems like they are similar. Can either of those two play the 2? I'm imagining being able to play a lineup of 5'10" Howard, 6'7" Cain/Bailey, 6'7" Hauser, 7' Froling, and 6'10" Heldt/John/Eke together at times in 2 years. Could that happen? Obviously, if it can't you can switch 6'5" Cheatham in at the 2 and 6'8" Hauser in at the 4 and there's still plenty of size there.
That's a pretty beautiful picture
I don't think he's a Markus-level sniper (very few are), but he can fill it up.
Heard he's been able to work out, and has bulked up a bit.
I agree, that I never read anything about him being a great long distance shooter. "A good shooter out to the arc".
His 3-pt numbers in high school were 35/130: 27% his junior year, and 49/137: 36% his senior year.
My understanding that Cain is more of an athletic slasher who can shoot and Bailey is more of a tall shooter who can slash. Friend told me that he's "put on 15lbs of good weight" since going on his mission. Keep in mind his dad is Thurl Bailey. He could a strong post presence by the time he suits up.

And partying with Thurl at some future NCAA weekend could be epic.
Beating out Gonzaga and Michigan for him is exciting....
Says he thinks he can play the 2,3 or stretch 4.

So I have a dumb question after all this time. Is Bailey technically a 'verbal' at this point?

He signed his LOI, but I think that is only binding for a year and doesn't have a provision for someone going on a mission. So he could end up going wherever he wants when he is done with no need for MU to release him at that point. At least that is how I understand it.

I heard from Wojo's barber that he's looking elsewhere because there's not enough variety at the Spirit Shop.
I can't wait until 2028 for his brother to arrive on campus after his mission.
Is Thurl allowed to play in the alumni game next year?

No, but he will be allowed in the Parents v. Kids game.

Good point Sultan.
Thurl showing up to MU events a year before his son even shows up? Love the dedication.

Wasn't there a kid that committed and went on a Mormon mission then never played for MU about 15 years ago or am I imagining that?

You are thinking of Matt Mortensen from Utah who redshirted and then was dismissed for NCAA violations. Hardly a missionary.

Sorry, it was a smarta** remark regarding glow asking if Thurl could play in the Alumni game "next year." Brendan won't be here until 2 years from now.

That's the one I was thinking of. I see he was from Provo, UT which is probably why I thought Mormon. Did it ever come out why he was kicked off the team? Google search had some drug innuendo but nothing solid.

Mortensen is Mormon. He just didn't go on his mission. My recollection was that he was actually ineligible per NCAA rules which makes me think gambling, performance enhancing drug, etc.

I saw on a BYU board while trying to find more information about Bailey that they have hope he will pull a reverse Carlino and transfer there.
