For those who dvr'd the game last night, check out the inbounds by LoVett on a made MU basket at 9:06 in the first half. I made a mental note that he wasn't out of bounds when he threw it in. Ref standing right there. Should have been our ball.
It all worked out
His one foot touched out of bounds but not until after he had already passed it in.
Correct--which is an illegal inbound pass.
I saw that too and it immediately made me think of Lazar Hayward's illegal inbounds pass against Missouri in the tournament in 2009. 5 seconds left, down by 2 and that happens. Season over. It came to mind last night and I had to close my eyes and take a few deep breaths.
I feel like this happens every game and is almost never called. Katin does it alot.

This.
Refs only worry about it when the defense is pressing.

I do not think this happens regularly and that guys often do it quickly with only one foot out of bounds that it may appear illegal but really be OK. I also agree that refs would be inclined to let it slide in non-pressing situations, but I noticed this one and thought it was so egregious that the ref would have to call it.
