One of our best defensive performances of the year
Pretend bulletin board material doesn't matter, but to young people it can.
"We had some behind-closed-door motivation for this game because [of] stuff going around about defense," said Pryor, who chipped in 10 rebounds for a double-double, along with two of Georgetown's five steals. "We really wanted to be attentive going into the game plan the coaches had for us, so I think we did a great of doing that and staying composed and staying with each other and communicating really well."

Johnson had his third-highest scoring output of the conference season (best was the first time we played the Hoyas). Average offensive rating.
I think you're making up cause and effect.
The real difference was Georgetown game planned for us well - specifically limiting our 3FGA/FGA to a season low. Good game plan and they are playing better than they were last time we matched up.
Good defensive game for Georgetown, but I think they would have been just fine even without JjJ saying what he did.

+1
Worst MU offensive conference game, and GU's second best, per KPom.
The difference is Georgetown had a game plan and executed it. Marquette had a game plan, but..... according to some, did not execute it. Georgetown is in the grills of our 3 point shooters..... were we in their grills? No. They had plenty of open 3s and back door cuts. Why? That is the perplexing question. Why?

Well they aren't a great three point shooting team so I'm not sure getting up in their grills is the right strategy
