I thought this team had a counter punch. Apparently not.
The Debbie Downers were right. This team has been figured out.
Hoping for the best but it feels like we peaked Jan 24. Sigh.
Yep. This season was fun for one night. At least that's more than can be said for the 2 seasons prior. This program needs to move on from JJJ, Luke, and Katin. The rebuild continues.

It was fun blowing out Vandy as well. But yeah this season is not great
All i can say is i cant wait for the seniors to be gone. The only other group i felt this strongly against was derrick and juan.
And next year will have Froling and two freshmen who will each have to play 35 minutes a night just to keep us out of the Big East basement. Looks promising.

And what do you replace them with?
Those who love losing are going to still defend it

This has been frustrating. We survived the gauntlet of the first 8 games. Went 5-3. It was supposed to be easy after that. Definitely didn't see this stretch coming

Some might say this was the real gauntlet =]

No one defends losing.
But this is the type of game that makes you lose faith that things are going in the right direction.

Send Wilson packing as well.
Kinda saw this coming. Oh well.
The scout is out about this team. Don't have any other arrows in the quiver. Still small, still reliant on the 3. Defend the 3 point line, exploit the lack of size. Oh, wait, I started that thread earlier this week.

I'll feel bad for Luke if he never makes the tournament. Would have loved to have a big like him with the amigos and Hayward.
Katin is a hired gun. Not too attached to him. He has been to the tournament, gave us the win over Nova, he was an upgrade over Cohen...fine for what he is.
Jajuan though...he's maddening. A total enigma, even bigger than Jamil Wilson. At least Jamil was a part of some winning teams. Jajuan played well the 2nd half of last year and the first half of this year. Other than that there has been little production. So, yeah I'm ready to move on from him too.
This team will be mediocre for a long time. Don't see a light at the end of the tunnel just yet. Too many inexperienced players dominating for the foreseeable future.
There were no positives today. Complete failure to adjust to being chased off the line. Too small to drive into the trees. Defensively, nothing good. Georgetown undid everything we threw at them.
Effort was lacking. Really looked like we gave up. This is the first time all season I've felt actively pessimistic about a NCAA bid.

I have said this before the season even started. Friends were excited about the teams potential n i said i hoped they were right but saw this team being maddening and going absolutely nowhere due to the lack of toughness of our seniors. Microcosm today, what did jjj or luke do in the first 10 minutes of the game to set the tone of being road warriors n going n getting a must win road game? They did absolutely nothing but hurt us. Turnivers, bad defense, no rebounds n missed dunks. Jjj got his points in scrap time as he will always hunt meaningless points
If luke n jj are ur leaders u are going no where.

They are not going in the right direction--fact.
It's really sad. I thought we had a chance this year
Easy to blame seniors but there has been no improvement in this team. That is a coaching problem.

I've been saying this for the better part of the last 3 years =(
I had them at 8-10 for BE and for awhile I thought I was going to be way off. Keep playing like this and they may not make it to 8 BE wins. After Creighton and Nova was wearing the blue/gold googles, but now they are off. Shame, cause next year might be the same.

Wait till next year, a familiar refrain for the MU faithful. Agree with your comments. Unless Wojo lands a stud Juco we are going to have to let the young guys get abused as Freshmen.
This team lacks athleticism. I'm not sure any of the guards or forwards outside of JJ can dunk the ball! ......No one outside of JJ can create his own shot!....and its killing them defensively.
and one more thing....I really hate that Fischer hook shot. That is a lazy shot he puts up after he's unable to back his guy up.

Check it out: All the top Jucos are signed. This Juco pining is pointless. Not gonna happen this year. Focus on Greg Elliott and then it'll be the grad transfer market.
I am not worried about the word PANIC.....
I am more worried about the word QUIT.....
Yesterday looked like they were going through the motions......

When you're built with an offense background instead of a defensive background, this happens.
I have zero confidence that next year's team will be better.

Same here. I am preparing for another year of mediocrity. I look forward to the new coach for 2018-2019.
To make the tourney all we have to do is beat X at least once and beat creighton that would give us 4 top 50 wins. We are going in the right direction just a minor set back. We will be fine

We have 3 top 50 wins currently, and Georgia would make it 4 if they have a strong finish (currently 53). Georgetown and Vandy in the low 60s also have a small chance to end up top 50. If we get 1 of 2 from X and beat Creighton, we'll have either 5 or 6 top 50 wins (4 of those top 25). Honestly, very few teams outside of the top 4 or 5 seeds have more top 50 wins that we do currently.
Pitiful out put this past weekend, embarrassing to watch. Zero progress has been throughout the season, one step forward and two back. These seniors, esp JJJ, are taking no ownership of their team. I liked Duanes comments after the game calling out his fellow teammates. We need someone on the team to make everyone accountable. We have no fire and no passion right now, coaches are doing a poor job of in game coaching. Sick of it.
When will a Wojo team play defense? That's my p-a-n-i-c worry. Has not happened yet in 2 and 3/4 seasons.

I've been curious about this point. What do people keep saying we haven't played defense ever under Wojo? The first two seasons our defense was ranked considerably above our offense. This was the first year that the offense is better than the defense. Defense is an obvious concern, but I think it is a new issue this year.

Because people don't have the mental capacity to remember the good defense against Butler six days ago much less what happened in Wojo's first two seasons.
