MU could really use another volume scorer.   One who is undersized and plays indifferent defense.

That was a perfect response.  Thanks for the smile.

He had 6 steals. That does not sound like indifference.

Steals are not a great indicator of good defense.

See:  Johnson, JaJuan

Deonte is a Top 15 player in ValueAdd defense. Offense efficiency is down this year.

The two games I have watched of ISU this year, he stood around exactly like he did as a freshman at MU.  Whoever he guarded turned into a lay up machine.   He has improved his ability to go after a rebound, as opposed to only getting the rebounds that come to him.    So he would fit right in on this year's MU team.

The other thing I've noted is that he is still a black hole on offense.  MU fans would go nuts about his forced contested long 2's/3's and demand he be put on the bench.

Against Kansas, those forced contested long 2's/3's were going in so he looks like a hero; more often than not thought, that isn't the case, hence a pedestrian Ortg of 98.6. which would put him only above Cam on this years roster.

He's a quality kid and a good basketball player.  I'm glad he's having success at Iowa St., but I'd stick with the team we have if given the choice of making a trade.

Well as a top leader in defensive rebounding, steals and and blocks is a good formula for good defensive value add as you are stating things on the offensive breakout.  Defending well in space is not his forte, but his athleticism turns it around to convert points.  This is what JjJ does well.
