Preseason, I said Rowsey's ceiling was to be our Rotnei Clarke. For those who don't remember, he was the Oklahoman midget who hit the circus shot game winner for Butler against us in Maui.
Rowsey doesn't have near the consistency of Clarke, but his offensive potential is right up there with him. Could be wrong but I think he leads the team with 5 20+ point games despite limited minutes. Now that he has a made circus shot in crunch time under his belt, I'm feeling better about that comparison.
Howard definitely has the higher ceiling and is currently a better overall player. But I'm excited to see what Rowsey can do for us in his senior year.
Love me some Rowsey. Wish Wojo would play then together more often (he did for like mins today, but don't think he has previously in BE play). That said, realize we'd be awfully small. Rowsey does rebound very well for his size.
Good comparison. Clarke gave me a heart attack everytime he had the ball when we bounced them in the round of 32.
Rowsey has yet to heave a half-court buzzer beater, but he'll get one eventually ;)
That absolutely was one of the most hellacious shots I've seen. And I've probably seen a million of them.
That he took it with his left hand ... un-freakin-believable.
So far, I think Wojo has had a pretty good feel for when to play Rowsey and when to play Howard. This game was no different.
Rowsey really knows how to use his size to advantage. Most defenders think they can block his shot and he suckers them into fouling him.
The Providence fans behind me were pissed about the fouls he drew. Not sure how you can complain, they kept leaving their feet. Marquette got whistled on a couple of those too.
Rowsey should play more. Him n markus at the 1 n 2.

That's a lot of shortness on the floor. Especially when one of them has to guard 6"7 Jalen Lindsey. But I think there are situations where it makes sense. If we are down big, a death lineup of Howard, Rowsey, Cheathem, Reinhardt, and Hauser could be deadly.
I really like Rowsey's offensive game. The kid can score. Unfortunately, he can't defend a lick. When he enters the game, opposing teams immediately attack him. That's the main reason why he's not getting more time.

I can't recall him being scored on once today. And he was guarding guys who had 10 inches on him most of the day.
He's no worse of a defender than anybody else on this team with the exception of Haanif (though not today) and maybe Katin.

Rowsey is a valuable player for us. He is similar to Rotnei Clarke, although Clarke was much bigger and thicker type of kid. I am glad he is on our team.

Rowsey had a few good boxouts today

I think we all knew that. That fact is the second most invoked rule in the Marquette basketball drinking game. Right behind "Markus Howard is only 17."
