Just 'Nova? Probably others receiving votes. Losing to Providence at home would likely undo a lot of that 'Nova goodwill. Beat them both, I'd guess we slide in somewhere in the 20s.
This roller coaster is fun. Last week this team was an embarrassment because they can't hang onto a lead. This week we beat a good team trying to find it's way after losing its leader and it's suddenly "What's going to happen if we beat a team that was up by 31 before they called the dogs off 2 weeks ago and won a National Championship 8 months ago?" When we lose by 12 at home to the #1 team in the country it's going to be, "Wojo doesn't have it. He needs to go."
Respect the process. Let's discuss it after we do those things. Until then, it doesn't really matter.
If we win tomorrow, I am going to lose my crap. In a good way. Not expecting it, but have a good feeling.
Line opened Nova minus 4.....now up to 5 1/2
One game at a time.
This cart is pretty far in front of the horse.
#1, of course.
You beat #1 you gotta be #1. Duh!
Can we play the games first please!

I agree with all of this except the "call off the dogs" part. Maybe Nova wasn't running the same offense, but Wright had his starters in right until the end. That became a topic of discussion here on Scoop, as in: What if Hart and Brunson had gotten hurt with Nova up by 20 and less than 2 minutes to go? Would Wright have forgiven himself? Would Nova fans have forgiven him?
When we get a 20-point lead with 2 minutes to go tonight, I hope Wojo plays Marotta and Franklin!

You are right that they didn't completely clear the bench, but it's human nature to let your guard down when a result is in hand. It happens all the time in sports. Pretty much every Packers game that they get a big first half lead they "let the team back in" and people call for Capers's head because he "can't hold a lead." The fact of the matter is the Packers sense of urgency goes out the window and there's never really a doubt of what the end result will be, it's just how much that end result will be by. That's what happened there.
Put it this way. If we're down 3 instead of down 31, I don't think we outplay Villanova by 19 over the last ~5 minutes of that game.
While the rest of you stand on your soapbox and examine your bungholes, I'm going to lodge a prognostication (winning a Scoop contest by default is still a W).
Provided MU doesn't crap the bed against PC, a win vs. Villanova certainly gets them into the top 25... I would say the ceiling is probably around 18 or 19, but whether it's 18 or 25 is mostly dependent on how the other teams in the 15-25 range fare and to a much lesser degree, how convincing those victories are.
Wins vs. VU and PC --- my guess is 23.
Beat Nova lose to PC --- maybe a few RV's, if that even.
Shenanigans. It will get MU votes, but not into the top 25.
Good thread.
