Title: Buzz Gives Up 104 In Loss
Post by: Golden Avalanche on January 04, 2017, 10:13:33 PM
Does every irrelevant VTech game get a five page thread? Or just the irrelevant wins?

So what you're saying is that even the great Buzz Williams isn't immune to this?

Just having a little fun. I like Buzz and appreciate what he did at Marquette. I didn't like the way he left, but that's life in the big leagues.

I agree, the victim is ALWAYS guilty.

I honestly don't understand this. Who is the victim in this situation?

Everyone who still experiences schadenfreude when something bad happens to Buzz.

Good question, some would say BUZZ, some would say the BE.

How was Buzz or the BE victimized?

This isn't me being a dick. I honestly don't understand what you are referring to.

When was the last time Marquette was ranked in the top 25?

Without looking up the rankings (but looking back at the schedule) I'm going to guess Sunday, December 1, 2013. That day we lost to San Diego State, our second loss in a week to drop to 5-3. My guess is we probably didn't fall out of the rankings (having been ranked preseason) when we lost to Ohio State, but two losses in a week (ASU the Monday before) would have certainly knocked us out.

Buzz had a good thing going and the administration wanted him gone.  After the smoke settled Buzz was gone, the athletic director and the president also,  last man standing was the BOT's.  Therefore, Buzz was a victim.

MU and the Big East lost a great coach and on his way out he bad mouthed the league, therefore, the BE was victimized by Buzz.  I don't think Buzz ever bad mouthed MU.

There were plenty of victims to go around.  Now we reconstruct history and find all three players in the dram (Buzz, AD & the president) guilty when they were all victims of poor management by the BOT.

This is just one man's opinion, mine.  All is well that ends well, I  hope it ends well for everyone.

O.K. he was a smart opportunist who wanted to move on up, and Marquette was the victim.

No one is is a victim.  It was a business transaction.  That's all.

Hay, I'm from New York, "business is business", buyer beware, there are never any victims, got it.

The same NC State team that crushed the Va Tech Buzzards just got smoked by 50+ points by UNC.

Just as the Buzzards beat Duke at home, NC State killed the Buzzards at home and the Heels crushed NC State at home.

This just in: Tough to win on the road.

Saw this.  Same team that put up 104 pts and had an eFG% of 69% against VT; scored 56 pts and had an eFG% of 42% against UNC.

So going full MU irrational thought style.

Clearly NC St. has a terrible offense (because of game against UNC) and the coach needs to be fired and/or bring in a offensive minded experienced assistant coach.  AND.  Virginia tech is the worst defensive team imaginable giving up 104 pts to a team that sucks at offense.  Buzz needs to be fired and/or bring in a defensive minded experienced assistant coach.

Or more rational.  College teams are inconsistent.  Sometimes you run into a hot team while you stink up the gym.  Othertimes, you play awesome and win a game maybe you shouldn't have.

The rational part is true. Except when it comes to Wojo, who must be fired because Nova shot 148%.

Buzz, of course, would never suffer such an embarrassing defeat. Except in each of his last two games. To teams that are about 1/10th as good as Nova. But I digress.
