MU could have grabbed either Carrington's or Sonoglo's missed FT and still lost. Even making 2 FTs only makes it a 3 point lead. Seton Hall could hit a 3 to tie and win in overtime. Plus all the scenarios if MU misses a FT: SH wins with a 3 or "And 1", ties with a 2 and wins in OT.
So, yes the loss was frustrating, but at no point did I ever feel the game was in hand. A missed dunk and missed layup set the stage for the final scenario. Make either and I'll agree MU probably wins. But we didn't so the game remained a coin flip.
Hopefully MU can pull victory from the jaws of defeat once or twice to make up for SH and Pitt. I'm still optimistic MU can make a run at a tourney bid. But it's going to be a bumpy ride for Team BubbleWatch.
Sure...and we still had the ball down by 3 with 9 secs left but dribbled into a double team. Tough ending no matter who had (or didn't) have the ball.
We seem to have a talent for snatching defeat from the jaws of victory.
