Post by: CAGASS24 on December 21, 2016, 07:44:54 PM
Carrawell on the pregame radio show spent 2 mins Raving about Howard and at one point relayed a story traci had told him that he thought Markus could be MUs all time leading scorer -

So traci doesn't see Marcus as an early entry to the NBA?

In his exit interview with Velasquez, Carter said the PG position doesn't lose anything with him leaving as he gave credit to both Howard and Rowsey for being talented players.

Class act and will be missed.  Gotta respect his honesty but still wish he would've stayed the whole season.

Ya not really a big fan of the december transfers.  Not only do they lose the games etc but it becomes a very condensed time frame for these kids to make a really important decision.

Traci will absolutely be missed. During the open scrimmage, you could see how he was pushing Markus and Markus was pushing him. This year the talent level at the point took a big step up. And the competition has made everyone better.

Hey, if he accomplishes both(scoring and NBA) win-win, although I'd rather see him blow the scoring record off the charts and stay if that were a choice

...but now that competition is gone. So who is going to do the pushing?

Question for you stats nerds:  Has anyone as small as Markus Howard left early for the NBA and actually made a team?

Mmmm, Ty Lawson maybe? But he left after his junior year, was in a different stratosphere athletically, and Markus is very young for his grade. Otherwise, can't think of anyone.

The list of smalls to leave early and have success is not long.    I can think of Iverson and Isaiah Thomas.  Beyond that.....

Of course. One 2016 example - Kay Felder... 5'9"

Kay Felder as mention.  Isaiah Thomas for the Celtics.  Nate Robinson left after his Jr year, though his athleticism is off the charts and changes it a bit.  Tyler Ulis from KY is under 6 foot.

Shane Larkin from Miami is probably a good comparable size and athleticism wise.  But he only lasted a few years before he headed to Europe this year.

Hey, Marcus is still growing.  He may add a few inches and play at 6'2".

Brandon Jennings never even bothered attending college. He's had a solid NBA career and will earn for many more years.

My brother had a late growth spurt.  Graduated high school at 6 feet tall.  A few years later he was 6-4.  So no doubt it is possible Markus is still growing.

I was just wondering if the poster was speculating or if there is info to support this claim.
