Wojo just indicated that he really wasn't available tonight and that he's headed to the doctor.
1) Does anyone have more info?
2) In the event it is serious, has Traci already played too much to get a medical redshirt?

I believe you have to play in 30% or less of the team's games. Assuming we play only 31 games that would be 9 games. He has played in 8. I am assuming the exhibition does not count.

You're close, except the 30% requirement is based on the game that gets you to, or pushes you over, 30%. 30% x 31 (1 for sked conf tourn) = 9.3. Therefore 10 is the max. (Additional requirements apply, but he'd be fine if incapacitated from here on out)

Your thinking is incorrect.
Let's hope all of this is needless speculation. Even with the emergence of Markus Howard and solid play from Andrew, Traci can be a key contributor for this team. It's tough to stop a three-headed monster.
In my experience, "soreness" usually means the player is back after one missed .game. You never know though

For the most part exhibitions don't count unless they specifically do count.

What about super, double secret scrimmages against Dayton and the like. I hear they might count double.
I heard knees, not knee, therefore he probably needs RICE.
Certainly there was nothing in Wojo words that suggests year ending. I simply wanted to ask the eligibility question.

Why did you link that? It simply states what I already said -- "excluding scrimmages and exhibition contests identified as such in the legislation"
You slow?

Wojo is limited on what he can say, so I do not think you can make a conclusion on what he said.
I am also limited as to what I can say, as well - especially during the holiday gift-buying season.

I agree completely. I just didn't want the impression out there that there is any info about the severity at this time.

I kind of got lost in the exceptions, but assuming they do not meet an exception than the secret scrimages do count. If that is the case than Carter has played in 10 contests. MU will play a minimun of 33 contests and Carter can only play in 10 assuming you do round up to the next whole number. Now, if MU wins a Big East tournament game or gets a bid resulting in a 34th contest Carter could play in 11 games.
Had MU scheduled the 31st game an MU player would of been guaranteed an 11 contest limit instead of the 10 contest limit of the 30 game schedule.
30 + 2 exhibitions + 1 conference tournament=33
33 x.3 =9.9, which rounds up to 10
31 + 2 exhibitions + 1 conference tournament=34
34x.3 =10.2, which rounds up to 11
If MU ran the table
30 +2+3 +6=41 x.3 =12.3,which rounds upto 13.
It seems to me that this is a rule that favors a Blue blood, since they are usually going to play more contests than the average team.
The other thing I read is that freshmen are treated differently and it is a little bit confusing because they were talking both about a non-medical redshirt and a medical redshirt. They were also talking about other sports. However the way I read it the first computation above for Howard or Hauser would be
30 + 0 exhibitions + 1 conference tournament=31
31 x.3 =9.3, which rounds up to 10
However, through last nights game Howard & Hauser would of played in 9 contests instead of 11.
Feel free to disagree, if you read something different.
Finally, the big thing is being able to prove that it was a season ending injury. Carter could have surgury tommorrow and not be able to play for 10 games. That would not allow MU to medical redshirt him if he was able to play after that. That would certainly preclude Wojo from saying an undetermine injury is a season ending injury.

Your {MUFINY} thinking is incorrect.
This is the most accurate statement I have ever seen on Scoop
Okay, so under any calculation you guys can dream up, Traci's under the limit. So if it's not serious this is moot and if it is serious he'll qualify for the medical waiver assuming he plays no more.
Let's hope we see him play Saturday.

Don't like that.
All too familiar with reoccurring knee injuries because of my dad. Hopefully he can power through it and not structurally damage it.
Hopefully good for the season and then if a little clean-upis necessary in April.
Hey JayBee, speaking of being completely wrong how is your prediction of Chris Thomas being a lottery pick working out? I must've been in the bathroom when they called his name on draft night.

Where did you see this prediction? Start a new thread if you want to veer topics
This is why you never worry about having too many players or about rotations. Suddenly, MU is down to dressing 9 again and has to have someone 5'10 on the floor at all times.

So "Big Chris NBA"/"Big Chris NBA Prime Time Status Elite"/"Big Chris Thomas NBA Status Platinum Elite"/"BIG CHRIS NBA STATUS!" all means the same thing as "Markus 2 NBA" == nothing to anyone except you and your feeble attempts to make people feel stupid?
I think Traci is one of the team leaders. He doesn't commit a lot of turnovers so hopefully he can play on Saturday
What's his status for tomorrow?

In all fairness Jaybee is weirdly obsessed with being right about his scouting ability. Remember the thread about that one mid major team he kept updating to prove a point? Some people should be called out when they're wrong

WTF? JB's been right and wrong like all of us. My experience with him is if you treat him with respect he responds in kind. No need to attack the dude. Seriously. I mean apart from his loyality the the Viqueens..... ;D

Whats your diagnosis? Probably just some inflammation if I had to guess. Maybe a meniscus issue.
Banged it, inflammation, treated with RICE and responded. No structural issues. Will be limited in minutes.

Thanks. Any suspicion of any thing more involved would have been an MRI with a more thorough diagnosis/ intervention and would have been a more specific timetable then was let on. RICE is actually controversial in literature these days...
Limited in minutes bc of Markus 2 NBA!
ps- funny that me repeating "Big Chris NBA Status" 4 million times to prove the point that Texas Southern wasn't just another low-major awful team equals "scouting"
That said, Chris talent wise could have played in the NBA... non bball matters are a different story
BTW, the jagoffs that talk nonsense like in this thread is one of the reasons I don't post more scouting info & thoughts here.
Taking a trip back 3.5 years ago to a private message I sent in here after the Cohen offer...
June 2013: "Don't want to put too much out on msg boards - so please keep these thoughts to yourself... and "I don't mean this in the wrong way", but I'm not as high on Cohen as some. He can make some really nice plays, passes the look test, etc.. but for Marquette I'm not sold on him."
<shrug>
Jay Bee, you're not at Big Daddy's level but your posts are appreciated by the mass of unwashed lurkers out here.
I'll take Jay Bee's scouting reports over anyone else's on this board. Only guy in the same area code is Freeport who is also very good.
So what the h3ll did JB do that caused Traci knee trouble??

I agree these are the 2 Best. But I differ with JB on Markus, I'm a little higher.......I see a lot of Tyus Jones, and he loved playing the Badgers.
