Very good thread on Dodds board that is worth discussing.

If you want to read Ners, then yeah.
Color me shocked that you'd perpetuate this
The Analysis shows JJJ is the SOTY so far.
I read it and yay for JjJ. How did he do in NY? Why does he still think a pull up 27 ft jumper is a good idea when the other team is making a run? Why did Wojo have to get in the grill of a senior to remind him to play hard? I am a fan of how JjJ played the last half of last year and so far this year. But unicorns and sunshine does not come out of his pooper and he still makes poor decisions. Hopefully, he can make that next step before the conference season starts.
Points per minute is cool, I guess...
Stats are useful in context of the big picture...they are annoying at best, disastrous at worst when they become the big picture

But do you agree with The Analysis?

I don't disagree with your overall analysis, but JJJ did not "pull up a 27ft jumper...when the other team was making a run". Actually, he made that poor choice at the end of a Marquette run in which he almost single handedly turned a 4 point lead into a 14 point advantage. Here's the sequence per ESPN of JJJ's contributions to that run:
18:59 MU 49-45
18:56 JJJ makes 3 MU 52-45
17:18 JJJ steal
17:14 Cheatham misses
lay up - JJJ rebound MU 56-48
JJJ makes 2 point
basket
16:47 JJJ steal
16:43 JJJ dunk MU 58-48
Georgia TO
16:33 JJJ steal
16:28 JJJ fouled, makes 2 MU 60-48
free throws
15:24 JJJ def rebound
13:22 JJJ block MU 65-51
13:10 JJJ misses (his ill
advised 3 MU 65-51
Bad shot - yes. Awful, in fact. He had just made a spectacular block at the other end and got a little too full of himself. But his 5.5 minute run preceding that dumb shot gave us a cushion that ultimately saved us and was downright DWade - like.
It was still the wrong play.

I believe I pointed that out at least 3 times. But context matters.

I agree with this analysis.
So Ners created a statistic that makes Ners' guy look the best?
Really I am shocked by this.

Curious why you're on the other board torturing yourself with Ners?

You leave out a lot of plays in that sequence. What you also leave out is that play stopped our run, got us off rhythm. It sparked their 19-7 run that closed the gap.
The key to the game was the next run after it was a 2 point game. Driven by Hauser (mostly) and Howard.
Hauser, 3 point play (assist to Fischer)
Hauser steal
Hauser, corner 3
Howard steal (FTs for JJJ)
Howard 3
That capped an 11-2 run that sealed the game.

Ners has two blindspots. When he gets locked into these obsessions, Dodds will ban him and he will pop up under another name. Ners was actually a good poster prior to his OCD (obsessive compulsive Derrick) began. So, meh.

Upon reflection, your timeline indicates that it was the start of the Georgia run. His brilliant play helped build up the lead, his bonehead shot started the run to lose the lead.
