MU moves up in poll
After a one-week stay at No. 12, the Marquette Golden Eagles returned to No. 10 in the Associated Press' media poll on Monday.
Last week, big victories by Pittsburgh and Tennessee caused MU's drop from 10 to 12 despite the Golden Eagles won twice. This week, losses by Pittsburgh (at Dayton) and Texas (to Wisconsin) dropped both those teams out of the top 10 and MU (10-1), thanks in part to a 77-37 drubbing of Savannah State, moved back up to 10th.
The Golden Eagles, who welcomed back injured players Dan Fitzgerald and David Cubillan this past weekend, open Big East play on Thursday when they host the Providence Friars. MU then travels to face West Virginia on Sunday.

It's astonishing, but the lowest vote the team rec'd was 14th, except from someone named Cormac Gordon from Staten Island who ranked them 21st. (according to pollspeak/pollstalker)
I felt obligated to vote him/her the worst voter. You may do the same if you have an interest (or spare time).

He had the lowest vote last week as well, 18th when the lowest anyone else had them was 14th. He's had some strange votes, last week he was the only one to have UCLA out of the top 10 and the only one to vote for Nebraska.

Maybe he's getting back at us for dropping Mike Deane, who's at nearby Wagner?!? (http://www.silive.com/columnists/gord/index.ssf?/base/opinion/1197474307119990.xml&coll=1)
Rosiak's blog shows the MU.WVA game to be played on Sun, 1/6 -- my schedule shows it Sat 1/5. Anyone know which is correct?
Harry
it's the 6th.
Here Pollspeak says Cormac Gordon ranked us 13th, and 2 voters put us 14th.

Gordon had us 21st last week (Week 8), hence the confusion.
Perhaps we should send Pat Ridgell a little love. He's given us our highest vote for most of the season, and has us at 4 right now! Wonder what he's seeing from out in Colorado...
