Title: Howard SOTG
Post by: Lighthouse 84 on November 14, 2016, 09:46:30 PM
1.  Katin.
2.  Sam.
3.  Markus
4.  JjJ

Could switch up 2-4.  Good to see we have some scorers this year. Let's go get Michigan. Go Warriors!

Put the names in a hat and draw one.

Thought at one point about inquiring if there hd to be a STOG in a win.
I'd vote for Hani - pts, rebs, assts.

All of the above played well, but mine's Cheatham.  He was everywhere before the game got out of hand, did more than a little of everything 12 pts / 7 rbd /6 ast /2 stl, and without a turnover.

Honestly agree.

I'd probably forget to toss Sandys name in the hat though

Cheatham,  Solid Thur out, and especially early in the game to keep players on a even keel.

Initial thought was Reinhardt, but after looking at the box score, I forgot how often Cheatham came up with a rebound. Haanif for me.

Cheatham. His stat line was great and he got us moving. No TOs.

Cheatham, JJJ, or Katin. Take your pick.

Sammy and Howard disqualified for turnovers #freshmen

KPom confirms Haanif.  Frosh played well at times but had 7 turnovers between them.

Our players seem to have some famous friends. LeGarratte Blount seems to vote for Markus Howard for SOTG. Also, RT'd a tweet about Jordan.

Another vote for Cheatham.

This is going to be a tough year for picking SOTG's I think.  Gonna be a lot of close calls.

12. D wilson ... Seriously wtf?! Seems to have zero confidence so he just shoots

While that was a very quiet game from an eye test perspective, Cheatham's box score tells the tale.

Yes, this is another tough one with such balance.  Johnson and Reinhardt are certainly worthy, but Cheatham blew 'em out of the water with his 7 rebounds and 6 (!!) assists (with two steals, and no turnovers...)

He was second in Assists (4) to Cheatham with 6.  Not all bad.

Was leaning toward Katin, but this very insightful post switched me over to Haani!

Also made me chuckle.

Made the extra pass when necessary, registered 4 assists, 2 steals and had a couple nice drives to the basket.

This is a classic case of a clueless poster not liking a player and drawing an irrational conclusion based primarily on that.

Wilson might have had the pass of the night on the great backdoor to Reinhardt.

We should track this vs Marquette's official Top Performer on Instagram.  They had Jajuan for Vandy and Haanif for Howard.  Maybe a Scoop sponsorship opportunity?

Good call on the SOTG, but how about some new pictures?  Maybe something with their new unis?  I mean, c'mon, what are all my dues being spent on anyway?

Not true i like all the players but have noticed in both games that when the ball goes into Duanes hands in bothe games it stops.  He pivots a few times n hesitates.  It allows the defense to recover, then he often just shoots and his poor shooting has really stuck out this year so far compared to those in front of him.  Dont dislike him just remarking that not only has he been poor, he also lookslikehe has 0 confidence

If the ball stops with him, how was he second on the team in assists?

I'm sorry but I think you are seeing a different Duane than the rest of us. Saw no lack of confidence

I have absolutely no idea how you could get this impression.

Also, "his poor shooting" stands out to you? It's only been 2 games and he made 4 of his 6 shots in the first game. He didn't shoot well against Howard but had 4 assists and only 1 TO.

I think he is talking about Duane's 3 point shooting. Under 35% for career . And so many of them miss badly - not even close. You see see it is a miss the second it leaves his hand.

With Hauser and Howard - they all look good - even the ones that miss.
