Anybody know it there's a page somewhere on the athletics or general MU Web sites where there are downloadable version of the new emblems, the block and interlocking MU that replaced the chicken? I have some connections to the daily paper in my town, and they ran an emblem of the chicken yesterday with the story on the Valpo game, and we need to get that fixed immediately! Thanks in advance if somebody can provide some help.
Contact the SID in the atheletic dept.
Or Chico might know who to talk too.
I'll certainly do that if I need to Chili. Was just thinking that they may get that request fairly often and may have a page somewhere already dedicated to dowloading those.

or directly to the Athletic monogram:

There's links there detailing rules for usage and a request form to fill out to receive a big enough copy of the monogram to print. A paper should have no trouble getting their request granted, I would think. I've never tried though.

This isn't exactly what you're looking for, but it's a step in the right direction: http://www.marquette.edu/omc/styleguides/logo-monogram.shtml
Apparently, the University wants some control over who gets a print-ready copy of the monogram.
That's the page I was looking for. Thanks much gentlemen. I can just pass along the request now, as it's not directly for me, but for someone else in the same company.
The only problem is those images are not hi-res images and wont work for newsprint. They will work fine for web though.

That's what the request form on that page is for. You just have to submit a request and I can't think of any reason they would not send the image to a newspaper for printing.
I should read more carefully. :-\
Interesting that they describe no correct or incorrect usage of the stain they call a logo!
Here's a link to a pretty decent sized image of the monogram:

Thanks much LJ. That should hold the fort down until they get something better.

PRN I can't believe you don't like the logo. It was way better than anything in 80's and 90's and it doesn't include chicken.
I was talking about "the chicken." I don't mind the monogram, but I'd prefer they use it with "Marquette" across the middle of it all the time. I don't know how many times people have asked me if "MU" was "Missouri!"
Anything that eliminates the need to remind people of our nickname is OK with me. It still frosts my arse when I see that bird in the Tribune or some random website.
Marquette is the only MU in the midwest. (I think)
Michigan = U of M
Minnesota = U of M (the U)
Missouri = Mizzou

touche
I thought Michigan was associated more with just M than U of M?
Missouri is Mizzou. however it also is MU. my roomate is from missouri and he assures me of this. So we may have mu.edu, and are by far the superior mu. but we are not the only one
