Yeah. It's great to know that Deonte is still Deonte. He can dunk the ball. He can also commit 5 TOs in 19 minutes against a cupcake. Same old, same old.

Hopefully we will be spared from an update after every game.

I sure wish we had all of our former players back.

Dawson ... Burton ... Newbill ... Butler ... Jae ... Wade ... Novak ... Wardle ... Bo ... Butch ... Dream ... Thompson ... Kojis ... all the guys in black and white photos. All of 'em.

So much better to wish for who isn't here and then predict our current guys will go 0-5 against power-conference opponents than it is to respect and cheer on the guys who actually are playing for us now.

I think it helps us when our former players do well. No matter where they are. No one said I wish they were here. That is just your insecurity .

When you were a journalist you must have been in the group that distorted peoples words to fit your needs.

Doesn't diminish my desire for the current team to do well.

And 10 boards.

Now unlike Burton, there's a guy with some actual basketball skill that would've really helped this team. Too bad he had a girlfriend back West.

Derrickesque.  Except Derrick was doing it against high majors, not a team that is projected to go 6-25 and finish 7th in the 31st strongest basketball conference.

John seemed like a quality person, feel kind of bad seeing his stats thrown out there, especially as things like facts will never sway the opinions of Ners and Tex/Gus/MUFINY

We saw glimpses of his ability. The guy had a 20 point game against Ohio State. He also had 17 boards against a St. John team that made the tournament .

He is now finally healthy and doing very good things.

but because we don't have that feature, i have to respond and give you a couple of thumbs up because i liked that-it made me chuckle and damn it, we could always use more chuckles

that has been duly noted and for fear of being re-labeled a racist, we've got more important things to discuss here or you can open a separate topic in the superbar to pick that one apart

oh, and you guys were wrong again about "free republic" being chicos/jams-as one of our esteemed posters loved to say-here's a little $500 dollar per hour "FREE ADVICE"- he gone gentlemen.   i'm sure most of you have heard the stories of people who try to help whup up a frenzy, say for example the burka clad female getting beat up and called every name in the book by some dudes wearing, "make america great again"caps and/or shirts...or the incident down at northwestern where they caught some dudes defacing some buildings with swastikas, etc all with the intentions of trying to show just how mean, nasty, misogynist, racist, mean-spirited, homophobic, etc. those trump supporters are...

well the incidents weren't perpetrated by the people everyone ASSUMED it would be.  believe it or not, chicos has moved beyond this stuff.  someday, as i'm sure many of you already have had, but those who haven't yet, will experience a "life changing moment"; a cartharsis of a sort, that shakes you to the core.  some change the person for the good, some for the worse and others it doesn't seem to faze 'em...chicos has a whole new set of priorities and outlook on life.  messin with burka clad woman and spraying swastikas ain't included in them... his core beliefs remain the same, but he doesn't have the energy to argue with many of you anymore.  it just ain't a priority as much as many of you want to think it is.  all this crap about ...getting help, meds, sick, find another hobby...all things a little introspection MIGHT help some of you get thru the hate.  then you might be able to see the true meaning of his message

Race card?  I believe it was you who informed us that Will Gates and Bill Gates are a different nationality.  Tell us, which one don't you consider a real 'Murican?

Who said anything about homo-anything?  Why, I believe that was you as well when you tried to disparage Sultan in your astoundingly ignorant way by saying that his boyfriend liked him to bend over in the shower.

Does what count too? What does getting boners over message board posts have to do with homophobia? Talking about boners doesn't make something homophobic. Implying someone is gay with the intent to insult them is.

i was referencing "idiotic crap" and everything was cool until that(sultan's) unnecessary jab(read, insult) at what started out as a very light hearted dialogue.  i suppose i could have taken the high road, but my "inner chicos" overtook me and i refuse to be "bullied" on this board. i rarely attack people personally, but there are some here who seem to troll for people they dislike; probably carry-over from the politics board and by association with others they don't like either.

What you either don't get, or are intentionally trying to deflect from, is that it isn't that you responded, it's that you responded with what was intended to be a homophobic slur.

I'm sorry if Sultan offended you. As I read it, Sultans comment basically amounted to "I disagree with Rocket Surgeon so much and so often that my penis falls off." Hyperbolic for sure, but he said nothing about you other than he disagrees with you. You implied that Sultan was gay and that somehow made him lesser. Using gay as an insult sends a message that being gay is a bad thing. That's where the homophobia is.

That being said, I wouldn't call you a homophobe. You just said something  homophobic. It happens to the best of us. I've said homophobic things before. You got called on it, no need to defend yourself. Just say sorry was trying to be funny and move on.

However, the "I hired a gay guy" is not a valid defense. I have a gay man in my wedding party. Doesn't change the fact that I've said homophobic things before.
