JJJJJ
Yep - JaJuan all the way.
I agree with this analysis.
JJJ showed his complete game. Was a game changer.
JJJ. Lots of good contributions from the team — Luke, Haanif and Traci definitely stood out to me. But JaJuan made a huge impact on both ends of the court. He was the difference maker.
That J guy.
Not the guy on the senior day ticket, but the real JJJ
JJ was dynamite.
Should be nearly unanimous.
Carter and Fischer were great, but jjjjjjjj was the man
Jjj....honorable mention to the fly on the wall who heard whatever the hell Wojo said to this team at halftime!
JJJ
But Haanif and Luke were big too.
JJJ but really it was just a complete team performance......love the way they share the ball.
Fun fun fun till daddy takes the Tbird away!
JJJ
Close thread
No doubt JJ, with a nice supporting cast!
Hannie, Traci, and Luke all deserving.
But JJJ in a landslide. First of many, methinks.
Can't disagree with JJJ. Haanif, Luke both excellent. Hauser everything you could ask for as well.
1. JjJ
2. Luke
3. Haanif
JJJ, all those steals made me dizzy!
It'll obviously be JJ, but I'm giving the nod to Luke. Near unstoppable in the post, solid defense, and was the man in the first half when Vanderbilt was right on our heels.
Great team performance.
JjJ
JJJ and Sam gonna take turns in that corner spot
JJ

I agree with this, but I would also add Carter.
I'm a contrarian by nature but MANY here have bemoaned Luke's ability to stay out of foul trouble. He not only stayed out of foul trouble but dictated what happened on both ends. He gets my SoG vote.
JJJ was awesome - i particularly loved how he controlled himself after getting too aggressive and reaching for steals in the first half. No doubt a great game.
If I were to have JJJ's game ore Luke's game against Michigan........I'll take Luke's.
Great all around game from Wojo on down - even lots of coachable opportunities.
addition: i was behind on the post game interview to get the kids to bed, but he also got the 'Northwestern Mutual Player of the Game'. So i'm validated! (by some arbitrary reference)
JJJ. Wow, we looked good that second half.

Huh?
I'm willing to bet if JJJ has this exact stat line every single game. We lose very minimal amount of games even to teams like Nova.
Dude was 9/13 and had like 6 steals.
Traci - for running the point effectively. 7 points, 5 ast, 0 to. Exactly what we need from him, and in a game he didn't start.
Honorable mention to JJJ for being incredible and Luke for 32 minutes of work.

I agree with you about the a Michigan game. The reason for this is we cannot really expect someone else having an impact game at the center position. JJJ's production could be replaced by another player.
Wojo's mind games for SOTG!
JjJ.
Honorable mention to Fisch.
And how 'bout the young Steve Novak (Sammy)?

I chose jjjjj for the SOTG, but have no problem with it being Luke, as well.
Triple J, in less minutes than Fishy
LUke because he was the 1st half...
You can't go wrong with either jjj or Luke. I give it to jjj. Loved the intensity tonight.
Big Fischy.
Stayed out of foul trouble. God love him!
More nights like this and the Fish will be a contender for Big East POY.
Win as a team lose as a team. Team game. MU for SOTG.

I was thinking that too. Some nights it could be Cheatham, Reinhardt, Hauser, Rowsey, practically the entire list of perimeter guys. Fischer's contribution is almost impossible to replace.
Loved Fischer's game tonight and said so often as I watched. But JJJ set the tone ... beginning to middle to end.
Steals, rebs, drives, 3s. Looked like a man among boys.

Well sure. But we are talking about the SOTG. Not the season MVP.
I would argue (although not vehemently) that JJJ was better than Luke tonight.
Luke was SOTG. He played his position basically by himself. Heldt foul trouble early.
CBS name Fischer the player of the game.
Fisch played an outstanding game and would be stud worthy any other night.
Never been a big fan of fischer. But he was really good tonite.
Jjj was great but id have to go fisher
Jajuannaman.
Complete game. Looked calm but surgically destroyed Vandy. Exactly what I wanted to see out of him tonight but on a much higher level. His instincts are awesome, and he has the skill to match now. Haven't enjoyed watching a player's game progress this much in a while. He obviously put in a ton of work and it paid off. Really happy for the guy!
luke
NBA JJ
Luke. He was our best player in the first half, and we really needed him as a result of Heldt's early fouls.
JJJ was great but it seemed like several of his steals were thrown right to him by Vanderbilt (he only gets the easy steals).
Luke
Had to play well on both ends-
Kept Kornet from taking over
Needed to excel as Heldt played more like a goofy frosh than I expect don't hoped.
JJJJ was a beast
Quote from: JerseyWarrior on November 12, 2016, 12:16:31 AMJJJ was great but it seemed like several of his steals were thrown right to him by Vanderbilt (he only gets the easy steals).
I know this is in jest, but at least two steals it seemed like the pass had to be intended for him. Vandy didn't do themselves a lot of favors.
Don't buy it on the steals. It is like saying the basket just happened to be in the right place for his shots. JJJ got Marquette rolling and didn't let up. Fischer played a great game though.
Mostly agree, but there was the one towards the end where JJJ wasn't within six feet of a Vandy player yet their guard tossed it straight to him. That was the one the announcer said he wouldn't even classify as a steal. It was a hilariously awful pass by Vandy. Again, not to take anything away from JJJ, but that was truly gifted to him.
So JJJ is nabbing the "easy steals" this year, ai-na?
I said Luke earlier, slept on it, and here is why:
JJJ was huge! Steals, dunks, great plays! But we all sat here this offseason freaking out about "is Luke going to play long once he has 3 fouls 30 seconds into the game!?" And "who is going to rebound! We are going to lose every game by 15 because of our rebounding."
Well Luke played 32 min, stayed relatively out of foul trouble, made is FT's, scored 18 (I believe), and nabbed 7 rebs.
(I will say though, the team rebounding looked great last night!)

No, this was a divergent thread ( you are not staying on topic with a poster who did not stay on topic) within this thread about who's production the poster thought would be more important in the Michigan game.

No disagreement from me. If Luke can play that well throughout the season we'll be damn good.
This was a tough one, and I know some will disagree with me. JJJ was the stud of the second half. For game consistency the whole game, I went with Luke.

I was at the Blackhawks loss so I missed the Warriors win. When I saw Big Fischy's picture up, I was surprised, given all the early votes for JjJ. On the other hand, Rocky's never been shy about his decision being contrary to the majority.
Great win Warriors!

No Worries, its a win win.
I did not see the game but centers stay out of foul trouble more if the other four players are playing good defense
As someone who was at the game, there was no question JJJ was the SOTG. Fans were marveling at his acrobatic baskets and then he was also hitting 3's, dunking and creating havoc on D. Luke was good, but JJJ was the catalyst to that win.

If its luke we at least need a pic with his chinstrap beard and new haircut.

- 'Crean Sucks' is replaced by 'Crean contributed to MU'

- The ongoing argument about the racial undertones of 'god save the queen' are boring.
