Same. Staying at the Marriott Vanderbilt. Would love to watch at a bar with other MU fans....but I'm not familiar with the area.

You can attend the official MU event sponsored by the local alumni club It's a short Uber away (4-5 miles):

Drink some Gerst beer while there. http://yazoobrew.com/gerst/ (http://yazoobrew.com/gerst/)
There is a great little restaurant called The Stillery that has great Hot Chicken: http://www.stillerynashville.com/ (http://www.stillerynashville.com/)
I'd imagine most every sports bar will have it on, though I'm not sure many will be partisan to the Marquette crowd, seeing as Vanderbilt is in Nashville.

Can confirm. Had the hot chicken while there for my bachelor party. Damn good.
Thanks for the suggestions... I will have to try the beer and chicken. I'm staying at the Holiday Inn Nashville Vanderbilt so I'm thinking maybe a possible campus bar unless there were any great spots off campus to watch the game.

I thought only chicks had their bachelor/ette parties in Nashville.
Also, MUEagle1090, you are going to be literally one block away from where they are playing the game. Why not just go?

I will be in Nashville. The game is in Annapolis. I didn't major in geography but I do not think those cities are a mile apart :)
In all seriousness, if this game were on any other weekend I'd probably be there. We bought the Packers tickets and booked hotels when the NFL schedule came out.

The game is in Annapolis, Maryland. And if it's not, I just wasted a ton of money on airfare and a hotel room.
I will also be in Nashville for the Packer game, but will be pit stopping in Indy to hit up Broad Ripple for the MU game.

Ugh, I knew that, but I forgot. Never mind.
I nominate myself for Dumb Post of the Day.
You're going to be down the street from Hattie B's hot chicken. DO NOT MISS THIS.

It all depends on where you will be at the time of the game, West End, Hillsboro Village, Music Row, Downtown etc...which are all either walking distance from each other to very short drive depending. Your hotel has the Commodore Grille inside of it which will have the game, and frequently hosts Vandy events such as coach's shows etc...The mentioned Hattie B's is in music row a mile down the road. there you can walk up and down the restaurants and bars. Otherwise you can do the same thing by Vandy at the West End bars/restaurants or Hillsboro Village (walkable from where you are staying) or drive just slightly beyond Music Row to Downtown and walk up and down for what you like. Too bad the MU game is not at Memorial Gym which is immediately out of the back of your hotel past the football stadium.

And on another night you're there, go to the Patterson House another block or so away

great Hot Chicken
And underneath a street lamp I met a Southern belle
Well she took me to the river, where she cast her spell
And in that Southern moonlight, she sang a song so well
If you'll be my dixie chicken, I'll be your Tenessee lamb
And we can walk together down in dixieland
Down in dixieland

I'm not sure anyone would care.
Vandy grads would watch the game in their country clubs, if they weren't at a Predator's game.

BITE YOUR TONGUE!!!!!
Last time we won there was 1973 and we played Austin Peay in the consolation round of the Mideast Regional tournament.
Marquette lost to Bobby Knight and Indiana two nights before.
We played Vanderbilt a few years back in Nashville and lost a game we should have won. And, then they came to Milwaukee. Gosh was that ugly!

Of all our recent home-and-home series, that had to be the most gut-wrenching. They take the lead on a lay-up with 4.1 seconds, then I'm still not sure how there wasn't a foul called as DJO went sprawling on the final play. And all that on the heels of losses to Duke, Gonzaga, and Wisconsin by 5 points or less.
And then the next year...ugh, I don't think I've ever heard the BC go so quiet so fast. I don't think even Iowa took the wind out of our sails like that. I mean...coming into Vandy, we were feeling good. 11-1, ranked in the top-15, at home against a team that barely escaped us the year before. That was just a complete throttling. At least against Iowa we didn't really expect as much. There may have been some hope, but certainly not the swagger and confidence we had against Vanderbilt. That was one of the most dejecting losses I've ever attended.
bump..anyone in Nasville have any concrete plans? Where are you headed for the game?

I wanted beer, bbq and the ability to boat. Plus, the scenery was pretty nice there for those in my party.
On top of the Hattie B's recommendation, I'll add East Nashville's Mas Tacos Por Favor and The Pharmacy for beer, burgers, and sausages. Go hungry, put your name in at the Pharmacy and grab some tacos across the street while you wait.
You can always pop over to my Mom and Dad's. They might be of the wrong cultural background to be hot chicken gourmets, but there is always beer in the fridge.

Highly recommend Clyde's on Church.

-good craft beer selection
- open air if weather is nice
-pool
-ping pong

This place looks cool, but I called and they said they didn't know if they would have the game on since it's "not on a major channel"
Hmmm. Bar is like a mile from Vandy campus, find it hard to believe they wouldn't be showing the game. Sorry.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too. I'm sure if we get there early enough we can arrange for the game to be put on. That's our number one choice. Number 2 is double dogs because it's also close to our hotel.
Thanks for your help.
Ah, forgot about double dogs. good choice as well. Food is a little more standard bar food, and fewer beer options. But the area is better. Couple other good bars right near by.
Anyone know if it will be aired on Comcast in Chicago?
