Arnold Palmer was an incredible man and inspirational to so many people. Hard to imagine him gone.

Wow.  Terrible news.  Tough day for the sports world.

I'm going to celebrate his life with an Arnold Palmer tomorrow.  Absolutely loved that Sportscenter commercial where he tweaked the pour in the cafeteria line.  Classic.

RIP The King

Arnold Palmer was one of my Mom's biggest idols and because of him she took up golf at the age of approx 45. Over the next 30 years of her life I probably played over 1000 rounds of golf with my Mom and Dad. My Mom has been gone 15 years and I still cannot play without thinking about her during my round.
I want to thank Mr. Arnold Palmer for being my Mom's idol and creating a lifetime of memories for me.

After college graduation my best friend from high school and I took a road trip on the east coast. We spent a night drinking $3 pitchers of Rolling Rock in Latrobe, PA and the next day got our pictures taken at Arnold Palmer Cadillac before leaving town.

That Sportscenter commercial was funny but this always made me laugh even more

Unequivocally the best ESPN "Cafeteria Sketch" of all time.

Which is quite the accomplishment considering the #2 Cafeteria Sketch.

My dad also idolized Arnold Palmer...and took up golf without a lesson. Of course he tried to copy Arnie's swing ....often violently shanking the ball. ....no matter who else he'd see on TV he would always try to copy the violent swing that only Arnie could pull off. My dad has passed (2011) but my guess is he's cornered Arnie today for some swing pointers. lol

Kind of eerie...sadly unavoidable...the newest Simpson episode premiered last night with an AP reference:

In a fact that only I may find interesting, Arnold Palmer was a classmate of Fred "Mr" Rogers in high school.
