Title: Retro Uniforms
Post by: Avenue Commons on December 29, 2007, 11:19:41 AM
chicagotribune.com had these photos of the DePaul vs. U of I-Chicago game and I noticed that both teams have "retro" uniforms a la Marquette's new ones for the year. The trend seems to be some kind of colorful border on the uniforms. I know the DePaul ones harken back to DePaul's glory days in the 1980's and Marquette's are somewhat based on the "bumblebee" unis, but it looks like UIC is just copying a trend. Even Coppin State had a "CSU" running around the border. Any other teams sporting the retro uni's this year or following this trend?

Well, I know that DePaul had these last year so if it's a "trend" they started it.

I think Coppin St has had those unis for a while... not that I watch many Coppin St games... but if you look back at years past they have had those unis... I don't think its a trend, just that teams are going with a flashier look, not so much retro, if they were retro, then we would go back to exactly how the jerseys looked in the 70s... just my thoughts
