Title: MU siting for MU82...sort of
Post by: MU Fan in Connecticut on August 29, 2016, 09:16:02 AM
So I'm taking a walk with the wife along the boardwalk on the beach in Milford, on a beautiful sunny warm non-humid Sunday morning and I spy a guy walking with his wife wearing a Marquette polo shirt.  Turns out they live in Milford and their son is beginning his Junior year at Marquette.  Apparently the wife's family is from Sheboygan Falls, hence partially how the kid had an interest in Marquette among other reasons.

Just saw this one now ...

Cool. I only knew one other kid from Milford who went to MU.

Here's how long it's been since I've been back "home": Milford has a boardwalk?

It stretches the length of Walnut Beach and Silver Sands State Park (about 1.25 miles).  Also, they redid the side walks on Broadway, so that the walk basically extends to the mini-mini-downtown area at the corner of Broadway & Naugatuck Ave.

Thanks to Hurricanes Irene and Sandy they had to rebuild one section of the boardwalk after each Hurricane.

If my schedule allows it, I do plan to get back to Milford in two years for my 40th HS reunion (which is impossible because I cannot be that old). So I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the info.

And you can visit the Walnut Beach Creamery which Connecticut Magazine has consistently ranked in the Top 5 Ice Cream places in Connecticut.

Thanks for the tip ... although, frankly, I have serious trouble believing it will be able to top my all-timer, Leon's Frozen Custard on Milwaukee's south side!
