Head Coach Mary Larkin has shown she can recruit, but can she manage them during the game? They come in well prepared, but Larkin still needs to show that she can make the necessary in game adjustments. They only nail the easy pyramids.

Having a little fun at the ol' ballpark, Doc.
In a study reviewing incidents of catastrophic cheerleading injuries reported to the National Center for Catastrophic Sports Injury between 1982 and 2002 researchers found that: 29 of the 39 injured athletes were cheerleaders and collegiate cheerleaders had a rate of head injuries five times higher than senior high cheerleaders
Advanced statistics show that for 2015-16, the squad's dFT% ranked a rather poor 243rd amongst D1 schools. If they can improve on that, be more distracting with their cheers when opposing players are shooting free throws, and at least become an average squad, our opponents lower FT% should easily translate into 1 or 2 more wins this year.

Are they wearing bowties?!?!?! What went on 40 years ago?
Wow. Things are finally starting to come together about you cats from the 70s. I know the 60's was a tough act to follow, but the 70's truly was the trough of mankind's carnality.
You see, in the 90's we had this newfangled contraption called the "internet" which was originally invented for the sole purpose of trading and exchanging pornographic videos. No longer did we have to fantasize about a cheerleader or some woman we saw on the street that day whilst taking our "constitutional(s)" in the morning, afternoon, evening, late evening, late night, during bouts of insomnia, (or all of the above) in the privacy of one's dorm room, shower, library bathroom, janitor's closet, behind the dumpster or wherever y'all rubbed 'em out in the 70s... for those of us fortunate enough to own a PC, we simply unplugged the phone, plugged in the modem, and off we went (jack in & jack off, as we not-so-euphemistically referred to it). And depending on the particular BAUD rate that day, we could have a new 30-second soft-core video downloaded in as little as 17-1/2 hours. And with videos right around the 1.0-1.4MB mark, even those with 3-1/2 inch floppies had finally figured out their special purpose.
That was what made the 90's so great: we didn't have to learn the cheerleaders' names. Hell, we didn't have to know anyone's names, just a few key words.... which, I suppose, is what makes the 90's eerily reminiscent of the 60's (except without all the penicillin and experimental antivirals).
Though let's not forget the 80's and the full frontal assaults that came all over the country from the VHS/Beta wars... never has there been something more pioneering, more inspirational, more significant than the introduction of young men (and a few women, I suppose) to the magic of "pause," "rewind," "slow-motion," "that mysterious door at the video rental store."

Yes, many options, indeed. My favorite can be seen in any of the newer Family Video* stores... they use a labyrinth-style design (i.e. no doors & offset walls) in order to meet ADA requirements, which I find is truly defining of how far the American race has progressed insomuch that we recognize that, at times, even the handicapable require the same assistance that the rest of us do. There is no greater equalizer in this world than good, old-fashioned**, American porn.
*Not singling out Family Video here... it's just that they're the only video rental shop that I know of that's actually been building new stores in the past 10 years.
**Please don't misconstrue my use of "old-fashioned" as a synonym for "vintage." The second most defining act of American progress is the bikini razor.

Transcendent of generational differences or anyone's ignorance of another time they did not live in,....
...Gail Pudvan was very good looking and moreover, she exuded/threw off a sexual vibe....every generation has those uniquely attractive women. I know guys who went to UT with Farah Fawcett (similar time window)....their stories of her remind of the same here (albeit infinitely less famous in the result)
Comporting with Gail's skills/gifts, she later worked as a Bunny in the Playboy Club....further on ...she has married at least once, did well with California real estate, and she lives today in Hermosa Beach as Gail Rasmussen

I wouldn't say I'm ignorant... in fact, I'm the one making an effort to understand what life was like in the 70s without having to watch reruns of Ashton Kutcher.
But no, I wouldn't say any of this is transcendent. I could probably ask 50 guys I graduated with whatever happened to the "hot chick" in our class, and I'd be surprised if even one of them could tell me her married name, let alone where she lives today. Those things just don't matter to us as much as it mattered back then.
But I get it... stalking women was cool back in the 70's. Maybe we too would have done the same thing in the 90s had the topic of "sexual harassment" not dominated the media for the better part of the decade. Frankly, that is probably Bill Clinton's most notable contribution to society... he helped enlighten an entire generation of young boys to the fact that womanizing was best left to creepy old guys from Arkansas.

Benny is right on this one. When I read Houwarrior's post, I got a definite stalker vibe. The only reason any dude should know that much about a girl he went to school with 40 years ago is if they have kept in touch all this time. That's even too much information to be gathered after running into her at a reunion. I am having a hard time picturing this:
Hou: Gail, great to see you! What have you been up to?
Gail (tossing her blonde hair while exuding/throwing off a sexual vibe): Well, er, (looks at Houwarrior's nametag) Houwarrior, I have been using my skills/gifts by working as a Bunny in the Playboy Club....further on ...I have married at least once, did well with California real estate, and I live today in Hermosa Beach as Gail Rasmussen. I regret the posting of Pudvan personal stuff, as all I really intended was to give a little of where are they now...(we do the same on ex ball players, without claiming we are stalking--lol), but
....Actually no stalking is needed...
this info today started simply with a 2012 post here on Scoop...this and a few of the related Pudvan postings peaked my curiosity:Keefe:
http://www.muscoop.com/index.php?topic=32028.25
Ahoya: "Pudvan was a Bunny at Lake Geneva Playboy Club for 2 summers - she was in their ads, postcards and fliers"
...the Keefe/Ahoya posts there Confirmed what I also had heard about her Playboy Club work (I had a friend who also worked there as a bunny --just the term for one of the costumed waitresses, way back then).
Then I noticed Hoopaloop also posted: "
Gail still in Northern Illinois, Northbrook
last I heard."
I decided to check his "last I heard", reference (esp. as his article link was to way back in 1995.... and this was 2012!!).....So .... (in 2012) with time to spare...and with a few mouse clicks it googled, linkdined and facebooked her over to California, where internet public records referenced her various real estate sales/ dealings, properties owned, etc and a public filing of a divorce .
It doesnt take any reunion or keeping up over 40 years (check out the facebook details many folks post nowadays). Regrettably, with any name, and simple internet searching each our personal histories is readily available.
I guess we think its stalky in this area, and maybe it is (she really isnt a public figure), but anyone of us can find the same information online. If anyone has a Name, approx age, city lived...the rest is searchable and easily found.
I will recall the chidings here today and likely not post of personal histories here regardless of the ease of internet/ prior Scoop access, as ....it seems good internet etiquette may deem such as stalking. Not my intent, ever

The difference is that when we hear about former players, professors, and notable students they aren't being described as transcendent sexual beauties. Gail is someone's daughter, wife, and sister (maybe? I honestly have no idea). Would you be comfortable with a bunch of old men on the internet swapping stories about how sexual your daughter is?

Guess I shouldn't be surprised by anything on this board. But I really didn't expect the original post to lead to anything like the last 3 pages.
It was only meant as a simple joke, playing off of tower's "Homer and Mac due for a breakout season" (which in turned plays off of the seemingly endless stream of speculative predictions for the upcoming season).
The start of the season can't arrive fast enough.
This fan is due for a breakout season. You can see that she's 100% committed to MU basketball. That dedication is about to pay off.

????
What's wrong with discussing pubic hair grooming? Its something people do. My objection wasn't one of "its not polite to talk about such things on the internet." My objection was that singling out an individual, talking about them as a sexual object, and then recounting facts about their life is a form of sexual harassment and could be considered stalking.
My post wasn't just directed at you. It was at the entire conversation. No one who participated is a bad person. We've all swapped locker room stories. I've done it on occasion. Benny has done it I'm sure, and I bet Chick has as well. That doesn't lessen the potential impact it could have on somebody. That's great that your wife is fine with it. She is one person. Others might not be. Personally, I would be upset if my future daughter or my fiance was being discussed by a bunch of random people on the internet.
Wonder why Pudvan dumped Butch for Steve?
Probably likes younger dudes. Novak's 'bout 30 years her junior, hey?
Can I just say that I love each and everyone of you. Please do not ever change.

My objection was that singling out an individual, talking about them as a sexual object, and then recounting facts about their life is a form of sexual harassment and could be considered stalking.
In this context ...it simply is not ;
Personally, I would be upset if my future daughter or my fiance was being discussed by a bunch of random people on the internet.
False equivalency. If either were MU cheerleaders , they might be the subject of the hundreds of posts on them here, over time, at MU Scoop...as they clearly arent ....you should be more concerned about Facebook ;where that sort of thing is regular daily fare.
BTW, you are an employment plaintiffs lawyer's dream juror
Might be a bit premature on this but.....
In before the lock!
With that said, an awesome off season thread.

Does "Manscaping" one's pubic garden qualify as a "change?"

Thank you. Just following the lessons those pesky Jesuits taught me.
Allow me to apologize as well. I know I came on strong. I don't want to give you the impression that I think you are a terrible human being or a creepy stalker. As you fairly pointed out, posts like this on muscoop are a miniscule concern in the grand scheme of things. Facebook is a much worse venue that contributes to a culture of sexual objectification. I work in the title IX compliance office at TAMU. I educate students, faculty, and staff on these topics every day. It's hard for me to turn off sometimes.
On your last point, I do want to say this. I know in our culture we have deemed it acceptable to make these kind of comments about pseudo celebrities (like mu cheerleaders). But does that make it right? If my daughter was a cheerleader, I would expect these comments, but they would still make me upset.

Turn off the Internet, Keefe wins.

Given what your assistant coaches recently posted in their powerpoint to educate ladies on Aggie FB....you have your hands plenty full .... now that truly was over the top stuff.

Why didn't they first show it to you? Good luck with all that
Given his history, Turner should never have been hired....Will Sumlin be held responsible/fired or does his fine tutelage of Johnny Manziel get him a pass? lol
