Dwight Buycks has signed with another Chinese team.

Hopefully he can hook up with a D League team again after the Chinese season is over.
What kind of yen does a gig like that pay?

Let's just make sure that when he does come back, that it is the real Dwight Buycks and not some cheap knockoff.

Nice! ZFB doesn't make that in 3 years
Buycks was able to get to China even though Trump built The Great Wall and made the nomadic tribes of the north pay for it?
(It's a joke, son!)

Dwight Buycks is not signing a contract in China for 100K. He's going over there for much more.
Goose can probably hook 'im up over der, hey?
Was trying to find average salary in the league and came across this:

Interesting, but the not paying this isn't unique to the chinese league as far as I'm aware.

Talking about not paying off, we can put your link into that category. ;)
Thanks for the fixed link.

I've heard that most of the foreigners are in the $300-$350 range, but Chinese taxes are in 45% range for that type of salary, so the take home is much less, even if the team pays.
Two reasons for going to China:
- easy to put up big numbers
- NBA possibilities after season ends, while Euro guys are still playing over there

I would be this pay is well north of 100k to play in China. They are paying USA players and coaches a great deal more now. Plus probably getting nice living arrangements. Cost of living in China is crazy high if you want to live nicely and you need more than 100k.

I've lived in China since 2010 and that isn't the case. In Shanghai and Beijing (and to some extent Shenzhen, Guangzhou, Hangzhou) absolutely the cost of living is high if you want western standards, but they are probably paying for his rent which is the biggest cost.
He will be Jinjiang which is a tier 3 city at best and has a very low cost of living. You could live
very comfortably off of $50k USD in Jinjiang while still saving money and with western amenities. As others mentioned he is probably making well north of $100k and living in a city that is the equivalent of Buffalo, I guarantee you Dwight is living large.

Yen is Japanese.
Yuan is Chinese.

Where do you live in China? Our office is GZ. FYI, my point was if paying for western type housing is expensive. He likely is rent free which is awesome. You know better than I do, but since all my expenses in China are from my family's pocket I find most of China to be off the charts crazy expensive. I was in Xinxiandong this week and dinner/drinks for 8 was very expensive.

You are definitely correct that at the high end (5 star hotels, western targeted restaurants) China can be super expensive. Hosting first timers in China is ridiculous as you are almost always eating at western places or 5* hotels!
I've just recently moved to Hong Kong (happy to be out of the mainland!), but have lived in Shenzhen and Hangzhou. If you're ever in China during the season let's catch a game!
The Chinese have always loved their Buycks.

So you are saying he's going to have money up the Jinjiang.
