Couldn't happen to a nicer guy or a better team. NOT. See ya Tom!

So the NFL got it right the first time
It doesn't mean they "got it right." Just had the authority to act.
For now.
This whole thing is silly to me. Like or hate him, you know there's no reason this should have gone to the US court of appeals. It's about some friggen deflated footballs.

Not what this is about. The court read the CBA and said the NFL commissioner has the right to act. What is acted on or why was not considered.
Going to be hard to change this, the Jimmy Garfolo era is going to have a four game sneak peek.
So what happens if Garafolo is 3,1 or 4,0? Remember how Brady took the job from Drew Bledsoe and never gave it back? If you have a 25 year old showing promise and winning, why bench him for a 38 year old legend that does not have a long term future?

I think you meant Drew Bledsoe.

100% exactly right. You guys have to take the subject matter out of the equation or the fact that they won the game by 40 points. There's a collective bargaining agreement that everyone is subject to.
So the NFL got it right....
;D
Good thing they have a solid backup

Brady appeals today....see what happens.
Separately, I'm in Cleveland and had lunch with my cousin today who played for the Steelers and Patriots (went to ND) many years ago as a linebacker. A lot of discussion about the concussions. He said he gets a survey from the NFL a couple times a year around his health, etc. He figures he had 10 to 12, including one each in his first three NFL games. He's very with it, still working, etc. Some interesting stories from back in the day....he even had a short stint in the WFL for you old timers.

Cool. I was a big Memphis Southmen fan!

First of all, even at his very, very, VERY best, Bledsoe was never Tom Brady, who very possibly is the greatest quarterback in football history.
Brady is showing absolutely zero signs of fading and he has said publicly that he wants to play for several more years.
What happens? Garoppolo goes back to being a backup. Eventually, he'll probably leave as a free agent, just as Matt Cassel did. The league is littered with Brady's old backups.
History is filled with QBs playing well in short stints for good teams and then getting mistaken as being good themselves. You don't bench Tom Effen Brady because Jimmy Garoppolo has a good month.
And I think you know it.
Brady's appeal denied today...

Domestic violence with video of the guy literally knocking the woman out = 2 game suspension. Underinflated football that 52 people play with and you suspend one of those 52 for 4 games. Makes sense.
Drive to Foxborough in January and leave your perfectly inflated basketball in your car for even 10 minutes. Take it into a gym and try to dribble it.
This entire thing was a test-case in the bounds of the commissioner's power within the bounds of the CBA. Don't read too much more into it than that.

+1
Goodell is just awful.

This whole thing was 100% not about the footballs. It was about Goodell's power and Brady's non-cooperation.
Most importantly, Brady might be available at a nice value in fantasy.

Yes, as you and Sultan both said.

I think it was also about the lack of honesty and integrity in the belicheat era

True. What was I thinking?
