From Los Angeles to The 'Quon. 6'10", 250 -- may* have a chance still to be in the 2018 class.. just joined Wisconsin Playground Elite,.. playing for their 16's here in the Twin Cities this weekend. Hope to see him (they play their first games at a secondary site from the main gym at the NY2LA Event this weekend) this afternoon.
Of course, Playground Elite has been in the EYBL, but were pushed out by rule after their performance last season.. Duane Wilson's dad by the same name is again coaching their 17U team.. saw them destroy a New Mexico team last night.. Terrance Lewis impressive.
Anyway, I believe January was in the Las Vegas Prospects program... the same as Markus Howard.
2019 is a little ways off and I need to see what January is working with in person... but, interesting. Plus, he's probably too tall and strong for Wojo's liking.
Obviously very early to say, but one person I talked to suggested January could very well be the top prospect in the state for 2019. Not sure it'd be the same if he was able to reclassify to 2018 with Hauser and Herro in that class. Him playing for PGE certainly bodes well for Marquette, especially if the Wilsons are able to remain close with the MU staff. That relationship has certainly paid off in the past.
There is a family that may have taken him and if so, wonderful.
January reminds me of Elijah Thomas in the good and the bad ways. If he gets good help and works, his upside may be stupid ridiculous. Will he achieve it? Let's watch and see.
With his size and skill at this age... c'mon dude. He just needs to work, work, work and great things are possible.
BTW, his teammate Greg Foster, Jr. can still handle and shoot from deep at 6'5"... if he winds up a 6'8" G/F, may be a 2018 that gets into the discussion along with January.

Don January had a very nice swing on the PGA tour.
January Jones had a nice run on Mad Men.
Few people know that Joan Molinsky's stage name was Pepper January before she decided to go with Joan Rivers.
