Title: NCAA Caps Bowl Games
Post by: MU Fan in Connecticut on April 12, 2016, 03:34:17 PM
I see the NCAA capped the number of bowl games at 41 for the next 3 years after 3 teams with loosing records played in a bowl game this past season.

There are 128 minor league football teams. So they are capping it so only 64% will get to play a post season exhibition. The struggle is so very real.

I remember when you had to be really good to be invited to a bowl.  How many were there back in the 70's ? A dozen, maybe?

While we are on the subject, whatever happened to the Bluebonnet Bowl?

I think there should be more of them as long as the market supports it.

This is too bad. I was looking forward to the Mitchell Park Domes Bowl, the Starbucks Politically Correct Bowl and the one I was gonna sponsor, the MU82 Bald But Beautiful Bowl.

If Milwaukee was going to host a bowl, we all know it would be the Real Chili Marquette Special with Oyster Crackers Bowl, Presented by Potawatomi Casino at Valley Fields.

I think they should have one in Camp Randall with Kohler as the sponsor. They can call it the Toilet Bowl.

Since the standard for bowl eligibilty is just above "fog-a-mirror", they should have relegation. Fail meet the incredibly low threshold of bowl-eligibility and get the boot down to DII. DII playoff teams can get promoted to the show.

One of the bowl perks could be having someone else to flush for the coaches.
