Title: INTERVIEW: MU Target Christian Vital Talks Wojo, Big East, Recruitment
Post by: mubbnation on March 23, 2016, 10:51:57 PM
I just interviewed 2016 3-star shooting guard Christian Vital. Since decommitting from UNLV he's heard from UConn, Cincy, Dayton, Providence, Iowa, West Virginia, Alabama, Marquette, Butler, Louisville, and Tulsa, according to ESPN's Jeff Borzello. Wojo went to go seem him today--a sign that he's a priority for our program.

I guess this is a case where you overlook the rankings and instead judge a player by what schools are calling. Also, I'm not sure why Wojo is going after a guard so hard but I can assume it's because he anticipates scholarships will be opening in one way or another (Henry leaving, Howard not reclassifying, someone transferring, maybe all three, etc).

Thoughts?

We can always use a guy who can make shots from long range.

I do not think you can judge a player in the spring signing period by the schools that are after him. There are not a lot of options out there to fill an open spot.

Or we get both plus Vital and Henry leaves and someone transfers out. Like someone above said, we'll know more in a few weeks.
