This season did not meet expectations. I came in thinking we were a team that was going to make the NIT and hopefully make a little run (for the record I always thought the NCAA was a reach.)
Really disappointed in the schedule that was created and the limited ability in this team.
those involved with Marquette basketball better right the ship, quick.

Or else what?

You're either moving forward or moving backward. Marquette seems stuck in reverse. Booster dollars for the program and trips to Europe are reserved for teams moving in the right direction

So right the ship immediately or funding for the program ends?
I have my doubts on that, but hey, maybe.

Increasing your win total by 7, doubling your conference wins, and quadrupling your wins against RPI top 50 opponents despite having the 8th youngest team in the country is being stuck in reverse? Seems like progress to me.

I'm willing to bet that we took a hit in revenue coming from home games compared to years past. Lots of empty seats. I also can't imagine any kind of a hike in season tickets. I know these are small pools of revenue but it's starting none the less.

Were going backwards because the team got better but seats went down?

the ship has been righted - it takes time to succeed - get a grip

I see progress. We got spoiled under Buzz that no rebuilding was necessary. This is what it looks like. We are young and our guys got a lot of experience this year. I am bullish on the future.

Kinda confused here. At the beginning of the season there was a poll about expectations and what would qualify as a "successful" season. about 85% of people said expectations were NCAA or NIT.
We didn't meet those expectations, but somehow a lot of people on scoop wants to talk about how we "need to respect the process", "this team is young" etc.
Where were all of you when the season started? there seems to be a lot of people talking out of both sides of their mouth and making excuses. I don't care how Young a team is, I expect to at least make the Freakin NIT.

Because there are enough positive things that occurred to not pull the rip-cord and start all over again - particularly when you are completely starting over like Wojo had to do. No one is happy and wanted more this year in multiple areas -- but its a big decision to start over - particularly when the positives are things that are hard and can get you a good program/team over time (i.e. player skill development and recruiting).

I talked about this in another thread. My expectation was NIT, so I'm disappointed in that sense. But my expectation was also 17 or 18 wins, so I'm excited about that. Honestly, I never imagined that 20 win team from the Big East could miss the NIT. We fell short on our postseason expectations but I attribute that to a shiity scheduling job and a record 15 NIT AQs. The team performed a little better than I thought they would.
