What does this mean....abandoning their fanhood and alma mater....or players? If it is fans, good riddance.

Win, lose or draw, I will be here. Have a nice offseason,
Wish the season had a few more games but this is where we are at.
Happy with the progress but left wanting more. Just a few points better next year and we will be a very sound team.

Move on?
If anyone decides to "move on" then I don't send them my best wishes. I send them my worst wishes.
What Ive taken away is that our schedule blows. Is next season set in stone or can we still tweak it?
Guys, what I'm talking about are guys like Henry. No need to congratulate any Seniors other than Michael. Don't read too much into it, okay.

Cool. Wasn't sure what you were saying, thanks for explanation.

Ahhhhhh. I prefer to make assumptions and act on them.

Spoke to Wojo. Main takeaway was he said his team was exhausted. Been going since July. A tourney outside of NCAA/NIT didn't make sense.

Kids can get in the class room and finish off the school year strong.
First time since 1963-66 sans a postseason. Brutal.

That is such bull sh1t.
I will take any other excuse - poor execution, incomplete game prep, not enough talent...
Exhausted? That's up there with "the sun was in my eyes", "dog ate my homework", "my grandmother died, again..."
Downtown Bellevue, WA is filled with construction projects and I see these guys going from 0600 until 1800 every day, rain or shine. They may get tired but they get the job done.
A bunch of 18 year old college kids playing basketball are exhausted? F#ck me.
Especially the Vegas tourney which doesn't have any games for 2 weeks. That is as lame of an excuse as you can get.
Yeah how could kids who have to be full time college students and full time basketball players plus do public events on top of it all be tired? You kidding me? Get tough kids! ::)

Even if the team is worn out, this was not a good way to paint things in the media. Since every other team seems to be excited to play next week it leads to jumping to poor conclusions by those that read the article.

So they should just come out and say, "Our best player is on the verge of becoming a very rich man and we're not going to put that at even the smallest risk by playing in some meaningless new tournament, and we're not just going to tell him not to play because then he looks like a self centered clown."
Hmm. Nope.
LSU is taking the same approach.
It's fine to be upset we didn't make the dance or the NIT. But people complaining about us not finding some random tournament beyond those 2 to play in are just whining to whine.

No he should have just left that out. It leaves you with the impression they are over-worked, not up to it, or injured. Look I'm not hell bent on playing anymore or think we should blow up MU basketball -- but he probably shouldn't have said it.

It was a lame excuse. Man up and say we weren't good enough to make the NCAA or the NIT so our season is over and we look forward to working hard in the off-season and making a post season tournament next year. Excuses, excuses, excuses.

I didn't realize he was making excuses for why they missed the NCAA or NIT. You're right then. ::)
He's not gonna come out and say "Marquette University does not play in nonsense tournaments like Vegas or CBI," even though I'd love for him to do it.
Y'all think the like of Henry Ellenson or Ben Simmons want to go play in some meaningless BS tournament at this point? Risk injury for the Vegas 16? Really? That's just those guys, which I think is completely legitimate. I suspect the rest of the team had little to no interest as well. It's not that MU is above those tournaments. Given where they are, and obviously that is not the case. It's that there is just very little benefit to playing.
Vegas can't even attract 16 teams, and might change the weekend they're playing it. I'm outraged that MU passed on this.

Wasn't it scheduled for Easter weekend? Not exactly a good weekend to schedule a tournament and expect Catholic affiliated universities to attend.

Agreed. Not only is it incredible bs, it qualifies as Trump level bs, world class.

Yup! Al's first 2 seasons. I was there for his second 14-12 and third 16-10 and then Al took us to the glory years starting my Junior and Senior year. Today's generation is just to impatient with instant everything at our finger tips. If thing don't improve in 2 or 3 years will know Wojo was the wrong hire. However, I think he wants to win as badly as we all do.
