"Cristo Rey coach Stanley Clay estimates about 25 college basketball programs have inquired about Sims, including Duke, Minnesota, Marquette, Arizona and Iowa."

6"9 180 lb wing. From Minneapolis. Attends the Jesuit Christo Rey high school in Minneapolis. Dad was a gopher. Older brothers played for NIU and K State. According to this article, Marquette is interested. Currently a three star but has to be rising if he's getting looks from Duke and Arizona.

Jay Bee that's your backyard, what say you?

Didn't know Christo Rey even had their own sports teams.  Its an interesting school - kids work office jobs 2 or 3 days a week instead of school.  Several of them work at my company doing administrative / filing type work.

I will say that Jericho Sims is one of the coolest names I've ever heard.

I have one working for me.  She works every Friday and one Monday per month.  We send her "pay" to the school and it helps cover her tuition.

He got a couple of offers last July that were a bit surprising at the time. Runs w/Net Gain who also has 2017 McKinley Wright (and Khalid El Amin's son Ish, among others).

I'd be good with tracking him at this point in time, but a lot is still left to be proven.

PS - Cristo Rey is near where I grew up (in my zip code.. a mile or so away).. wonderful facilities. More and more travel tourneys being played there.. four-court setup that allows viewers to easily change views from one court to another)

Holy smokes, has it been that long? I used to love that guy when I was a little kid.

I have one working for me.  She works every Friday and one Monday per month.  We send her "pay" to the school and it helps cover her tuition.

It is an amazing and successful school model.  It was started 20 years ago by the Jesuits at Cristo Rey in the Pilsen neighborhood in Chicago, and with now over 30 across the country (including one in Waukegan north of Chicago, and one in Austin on the west side of the city-Christ the King).  The Milwuakee Cristo Rey opened this school year.

The model allows students who would not otherwise be able to afford it to attend a Jesuit college prep school.  Your company provides the equivalent of a full time clerical type job for (depending on the school) roughly $35,000, which is paid to the school and shared (in the form of a 65% tuition subsidy) by 4 kids who, as WC says, each work one day a week plus one extra day every 4 weeks during the school year.  These mostly are kids who likely would never o/w get the chance to interact with an office environment, so it also gives them a leg up in terms of maturation/exposure/mentoring (getting to work with WC!).

These schools commonly are achieving 100% college acceptances, with 95% plus of the students being first generation to attend college.

There is an umbrella organization called the Cristo Rey Netwrok that provides assistance and guidance as the schools start up in new communities.

Because of where we live, it has been easy to get involved in a lot of different ways, with jobs, networking, advancement and even service connections through our parish (taking African-American kids from the inner city of Chcago to Appalaichia to work on homes with rebel flags on display (at least until one of the Jesuits who went with us explains the situation to the homeowner) is quite an experience--not sure who benefited the most.

God Bless the Jesuits.  If you have the chance, get involved.  Nationwide and growing.

So... I watched Sims today. He - along with McKinley Wright and Ish El-Amin - have joined D1 Minnesota's 17U team this year.

They won by ~90 points so tough one to watch.. but, intriguing.

He's ridiculously bouncy; seems comfortable scoring at all levels and knocked down a couple of back-to-back corner treys today, but don't think he's a special shooter from distance.

The bounce though.. can he turn that into great shot-blocking and rebounding? Sure does snap up rebounds nicely.

Will be tracking him this spring and summer.. curious to see what kind of performances he puts up in the adidas league games.

Why do I have the feeling that you are going to save this post for several years and repost it when no one asks, and pat yourself on the back and an "I told you so".

Yeah right--if you can attempt hold yourself in a higher light in a few years....You will give it a shot.

You're a sad, young boy.

Unfortunately, you hurt others with b.s. like this. Good luck, lil guy.

Gosh, I really have to take exception to your post. I think J B has been a consistent source of great info on recruits. I don't want to speak for the man but IMHO it would be with in the realm of good taste for him to say GFY. I believe your comments were uncalled for. For now FO :)
