Good for Gard. He's put his time in, and passed the audition.
He deserves it. The guy can coach.
We'll see if he can recruit, as well.
Good for Gard. Good for Marquette.

Since you claimed that UW wouldn't make the tournament even a couple weeks ago, you might be underestimating his abilities.

That was wishful thinking, and really the only time I said it all year. If you go back and look at the discussions leading up to the UW game, when everyone was saying this was the year their NCAA Tournament streak ends, they're inexperienced (I wish our team would be "inexperienced" with a starting PG and starting SF from back to back FF teams), etc., I said they'd finish top 4 in the B1G once again and they'd be healthily in the NCAA Tournament.
Gard's got (again) a starting FF/National Championship game point guard and an NBA player that Bo tried to ruin by making him a perimeter player on his roster. We'll see how the swing works once it goes back to being short on talent.

With Hayes, Koenig, and Happ coming back, plus the freshman getting a year older, they have a chance to win the B10 next year.
