We're winning now and we're 8-1, but there is a festering boil that will soon pop out in conference play. We've been plagued by abysmal FT shooting for 2 years. Sure we're at 68% for the year but look at the trend over the last 4 games, 3 of which have been at home. Is the BC a difficult place to hit FT's? What do the Bucks shoot? Is there anything we can do to fix this? Murf? Anybody?

It's the f'ing magic fingers. I've been complaining about them for years. Please students, just stop.
Aside from the free throws in today's game we've improved from last years team. At least it seems like we have.
Reason for stopping magic fingers....?

Are you serious? You're reaching pretty hard.
They missed as frequently tonight playing towards our student section than away from it. Nice try.

Sounds to me like you wouldn't be the type to focus on the line. Do what you're supposed to do: Focus and block everything out when you're on the line. It's all mental anyway.

And why should our own players have extra things to block out when they are at home?
you guys realize the way the BC is laid out, the tunnels at either end are right in the line of view of players on the line. In other words, if you're looking at the orange rim, you cant see the hands in the stands. That's why when the away team shoots I don't wave my hands or do anything physical to distract, i just screech at the top of my lungs doing a nice impression of Xena's warrior cry.
I think the magic fingers thing is kind of stupid actually. I suppose it's fun for the students, but when an opposing team shoots free throws do our fans not wave their arms, wave the "big heads", sway back and forth, jump up and down? Why? To distract the player shooting the free throw. So don't you think the "quieter and calmer the stands are the better off the shooter would be? Just my ywo cents.
I've always thought a sustained "ooooooo" during an opponant's FT attempt was worthless.
What ya need to do is stay quiet until just before the moment of release then let out a loud and sharp HEY or whatever with the idea that it will startle them.
I would like to think that part of the problem in our last 4 games is that 3 of them were blowouts so the concentration at the line was less than it should be. At least that is what I hope is the problem and that it will get rectified soon. But at the very least, Matthews seem to be getting more aggressive now which should lead to more free throw attempts by our best free throw shooter and Burke has improved a lot from last year. I won't get worried about free throw shooting until we lose a game because of the free throw shooting.

Hope Crean has a more proactive approach.
on the postgame show he told Homer he should be looking into getting some pillows and blankets for Jerel and Dominic so they can stay late and just go to bed there when they are done practicing.
