Disclaimer: Most of the time I always think with my heart that Marquette can find a way to win every game so I never bet their games.
Thinking with my head... This line shows the Warriors respect: allowing for a three point home court advantage the line makers are saying that Villanova is only 11.5 points better. Recent history shows that is not true. Marquette has defeated BE teams in the middle of the pack or lower. When they've stepped up in class playing the best teams in the BE (Villanova, Xavier, Seton Hall) they have not won (yet).
Hoping for the upset! GO WARRIORS!

0-5 vs RPI top 25 teams
Perfect time to notch the first win tmr
Umm...the -8.5 for Villanova is giving 3 points in our favor, so on a neutral court, we would be -11.5 underdogs, not -5.5.

Agree for the neutral court. The game is at MU.

Right. So Vegas gives MU 3 extra points. AKA, instead of losing by 8.5, they'd expect MU to lose by 11.5 on a neutral court and 14.5 at Nova.

That's correct.
What about home court WITH Marquette Lights app?

That's correct.
That's not what the original post says though.

That's the half a point. Otherwise it'd be Nova -9.
I feel like Nova is gonna be getting a lot of action at only -8.5 could be a classic Vegas trap bet (I hope)

And 21.5 if we come out wearing the baby blues.

For cripes sake! I should not post while golfing! Corrected my original post. I'm hoping MU's improvement can be seen when they play top tier opponents!

Haha well you're on a golf course so you win regardless of what you typed.
Would think the money line has to be at least +210 or something. F the points, take em to win.
FWIW - Heritage sports book in beautiful Costa Rica has Villanova -10.
OT - Iowa @ Ohio St. and Bowling Green @ Akron have been postponed. Storm coming through?

Given the handle on a MU vs Nova game, I'm guessing that spread is right where they think it is.

Strange - Columbus weather listed as 48 and cloudy tomorrow.
Maybe just condensation on the court.

Las Vegas consensus opening line comes out Villanova -10.
OT - BG@Akron is tonight and Iowa@OSU is Sunday. Maybe the made an error when they printed the initial sports book schedules(?)
Easy money. We got this!!!!!

So beating Providence twice when they were ranked in the top 15 doesn't count as playing a" best" team?

Unfortunately, many (even BEast fans) forget the Prov and Butler kicked ass in OOC. Tough to win in this conference.

I mentioned the "best teams in the BE" referring to the whole season's body of work and the current BE standings. Those Providence wins were great. Unfortunately (for us) Providence is 1-5 in their last six conference games. They are 7-8 in conference. To me, that doesn't qualify as a "best team" in the BE conference.
Currently:
The combined BE records of the teams MU has beaten twice is 8-23 (Providence-St.Johns).
The combined BE records of the teams MU split with is 11-19 (Creighton - DePaul). Creighton (8-7) is our only conference win against a team that currently has a winning BE record.
After Villanova we finish BE play with Georgetown (7-8) looking for a split and at Butler (7-8) looking for a sweep.
The best three confernce teams are Villanova, X and Seton Hall. Their combined conference record is 36-10. MU is 0-5 against those three teams. I hope after Saturday that record will be 1-5!
