A cabal of social media types got together on twitter and came up with a new tshirt design for Marquette fans that are social media savy. It was kind of a lark, but now we actually have a tshirt that could sell.
The idea is to sell the tshirt and have all proceeds go to Al's Run, no one is taking any money other than the 3rd party that will do the shirt manufacturing and distribution. We are thinking it will go through a crowd fund website called booster.com which does charitable tshirt sales as a business model. Part of getting it off the ground though is that there needs to be a minimum of 26 units ordered, so is anyone interested?
Like I said this is really impromptu and totally put together by twitter MU fans who spent about 6 minutes planning it so I'm sure there are plenty holes in the boat, but please throw some thoughts out there and most importantly would you buy the shirt?
I'd buy this. 25 more to go.
I'm in for one

No idea, just taking a temperature. Twitter folks seemed very interested so thought Scoop might like some action.

I am holding out for bowling shirts. With our usernames embroidered in script on the breast pocket.
And Real Chili as our sponsor.

I'd wear that! Something to work on for next year....
(I just had lunch at Real Chili BTW. Awesome, as usual.)
We got my mother in law a custom bowling shirt several years ago. It was pretty expensive.
A $15 t shirt is much better value.
By the way, we hit the minimum required to print the order. Nice job, Internet

That's some out of box thinking. I'd make it one of those tech running shirts with the above, (so I can selfishly wear while running road races).

Actually, I am not from Wisconsin. My sum total of actually living there was just over 5 years.
However, my dad is from the St. Louis area and they are almost as crazy about bowling there. My grandpa had close to a 200 average and only bowled once a week.
Why in the world would you make the shirts baby blue?!? Do you want to see Al's Run fail?

It's okay...it won't be on national TV.

Oh, and in.
Just an update, day 1 of the impromptu tshirt sale was outstanding! 52 shirts have been sold and raised $330 for Children's already. There are 15 days left in the campaign so pass the link around and see what we can do.
I'm betting we can break the $1,000 mark in donations before the campaign ends. Let's get it done.

03, does the cost per T shirt (and thus, the amount per T shirt that goes to charity) go down as volume goes up?

Just from my tracking of it, it appears that the total raised per t shirt is going up. Lately, it seems like every t shirt purchased raises $10. It was less than that earlier in the process.

I agree, I believe the overhead cost gets spread over the total # of shirts....so the more shirts sold the lower the cost per shirt AKA more money from each shirt is donated.

Correcting myself after getting the scoop from the horse's mouth. T-shirt costs are fixed...so if tshirt 1 is $10 to make tshirt 312 is $10. The change in donation raised is a result of some confusion on number of colors on the shirt (2 instead of 1) so the cost per shirt went up from what it was previously thought.
Either way, $15 for a shirt, 68 ordered, $380 raised.....we can still make $1000 donated by the end of the campaign...I believe in Scoop.
Bump
